Knuckles was fast asleep by the time Ajal returned, curled up beside the Master Emerald and still sporting a contented look.

It didn't take long for the howl of a single wolf echoed over the surrounding forest. A second joined the first, then three, then several. It was a pleasant sound, like a song without clear lyrics.

The howls went on for a good five minutes before subsiding, sending the night air into a scerene silence once more.

Ajal listened for more howls he hadn't quiet understood why they howled but they sounded nice.
