"Maybe for you organics, but I try to guzzle down any kind of liquid like that, it's going to be a hell of a bad day for me."
He picked up a piece of scrapped metal armor from the pile, biting a chunk out of it and slowly melting it as if to begrudgingly prove his point about the vast differences in their diets.
At least it wasn't.. half bad? He'd call it a waste of resources, but he doubted there was any salvaging that one anyways.

She took another small sip of the 'slurry.' It wasn't the best think, but it wasn't the worst. Her natural diet was straight up rocks and minerals, but her species has the capability to change it's own diet over time. She had been focussing on more human prefered foods, since they seemed more available on this planet.
"So basically what you are saying Scias, is that your species eats walls. Very nice." she said with a mocking chuckle

"We eat gold, silver, and really any other minerals or gemstones we can get our hands on." Scias shrugged through a mouthful of molten metal.
"I mean, the polycarbonate and composite metal of this armor's junk if you really want to get down to it, but better than starving. Can't stand human food, always just leaves me tired and more hungry again in an hour."

She nodded, finishing off the last of the strange grey meal. "I used to live off most metals, but I had to change once I mover here. Not fun." She put the cup down and sat on the nearest surface. She had a certain enjoyment with the unspoken rebellion of sitting on surfaces not meant to be sat on. "So, while we are sitting around, I might as well ask. Do you have any hobbies or anything? I understand that we are all a bit busy trying not to die and trying to make enough money to survive and what not, but still."

(he's a weeb. No, I'm not kidding.)

"Usually just like to tinker with things. Guns, armor, robots, you name it."
Scias finished off the scrap before speaking again.
"And since X isn't here to give me any hell, before all this I used to be pretty big into cartoons. We ended up with a lot of old Earth cultural artifacts dropped on us years ago after a few other Inspectors checked this place out a few centuries ago.
At the time, we just thought they were all just a bunch of undeveloped, stupid apes and decided to leave Earth alone. But we had more than a few Daarizi get waaay interested in the kind of stuff we got from them.. Never really pegged them for a creative species."

Zethrin had honestly not learned much about human culture since traveling to earth. All she knew was that humans were inferior, but that is all she really thought she needed to know. "I'm sorry, cartoons? What the hell is a cartoon?" she asked with a slight laugh. The word itself was fun to say. It sounded as though it was made to amuse. The only entertainment she grew up with was, well, sparring.
(Her culture was the non-earth version of Sparta basically.)

"It's this drawn, animated show. Did your planet ever have movies or plays? Kinda like those, but with drawings instead of people."
Scias shrugged.

(Honestly sounds very cool, I'm a sucker for warrior planets. The Daarizi take bits of culture from all over the universe but they don't have much of their own because they are always working or off on other planets. Their cities are kinda like underground Chinese type ones with light-magic tech and generally very cyberpunk.)

(She is a pretty basic 'tough girl' character right now. I actually wasn't done with her when I added her to this. I was considering using this as a great way to develop her, and maybe even add some of this rp into her backstory. I've got all her species physical attributes down, it's just her as a specific character. Fun fact- her horns are the most sensitive organ on her body and serve as a way to preform echolocation. The reason she won't let people touch her horns are because they are so sensitive. It doesn't hurt, it just embarrasses her. I really like your species though. What inspired it?)

She shrugged, still not knowing what the heck he was talking about. "I wish I knew what you were talking about, but quiet frankly, you sound pretty stupid right now," She yawned. She was not one to question things. She grew up a certain way and never asked why. She knew that other species were more involved in recreational themed activities, but she never wondered why her species was not. She simply assumed that they were a waste of time.

(pretty much what I use these forum rps for. Even if the group ends up boring me to tears or dying off, I can sandbox characters and ideas I wouldn't have otherwise gotten a chance to develop. If I like an RP, sometimes things from it will continue on as part of the character or their history.

Scias is one of my main OCs from a sci-fi universe I've had ongoing on and off since like 2012, long enough to have our own canon at this point. Tried to turn some mishaps with his species and that universe into a novel but found Scias way too unlikable as a novel protag and a lot of stuff got retconned and revised between now and 4 years ago, so I'm still trying to rework stuff about them all the time. Never got a chance to develop him as much as I wanted because in both rps he's been in in his origin universe, he's basically been killed off right away for being a jerk.

I honestly really don't know or remember what inspired them since me and a friend kinda helped develop them. I think we just wanted an excuse to port originally fantasy demon characters into a sci-fi universe so we just both made shapeshifters and they kinda just got their own life from there.
Looking at them now I think I took a lot of unconscious influence from TRON, Men in Black, and the Changelings from Star Trek despite never seeing any of those series until I was well out of high school.)

(Sounds like Scias has been on quiet the journey from then to now. And how the heck did you last not seeing any of those until after high school!?!?!)

She rolled her eyes. "The one and only interesting thing doesn't count." she let out an exasperated sigh before continuing. "Alright, fine. I make daggers occasionally. ^{I was also cough, the hide and go seek champion as a kid.} But only because we played it as a training exercise.
