Hesitantly, the two echidnas glanced at eachother. "...Very well. Just... come back later. He's terrified right now." The younger of the echidnas spoke in a softer tone.

Douglas nods once, "When he calms down find Kaladin or myself. I hope your brother calms down soon." He walks away from the small group as his vision clears, "Locke see anyone else?"

Locke shook his head. "Most went further inland ta keep fightin'. Prob'ly layin' low in the forest right now."

"Maybe Marcos went farther inland as well," Nathanial speaks up.
Douglas nods once, "I'm going to stay on the beach and check on the others. If you find wounded find me or Kaladin."

"Pheniox," Marcos calls out, "donde estas?"
(Where are you?)

Kai looks up at Kaladin, Will this warrior be okay?

Bringing his gaze up to the other echidna, Kaladin exchanged a few brief words with him in Echidnean. "Yes. With time." Kaladin finally told Kai.

"Aye." Locke barked, making his way into the trees.

Pheonix, who was taking shelter in the dense canopy, perked up at the sound of Marcos' call.

Marcos whistles the tune he had taught Pheniox.

Kai nods once.


"be careful," Douglas warns, "don't be reckless."

"Aye," Locke called back.

Pheonix mimiced the melody and fluttered down to a lower branch, no longer hidden by foliage.

Marcos smiles as he sees Pheniox.


Douglas walks the beach to try and find others that are wounded.

Pheonix glided over to Marcos and perched on his shoulder. "Hola! 'Ello."

"Hello Pheniox," Marcos gently pets Pheniox.
