You feed Oralie the leaf, and they immediately begin to grow. Their limbs stretch and they let out a squeak as their body grows longer... before very long, Oralie grows to their adult size!

You wander into the Umber Forest, unsure of your surroundings... you look around as best you can, and find an interesting plant... a water plant, maybe? You pick some of the leaves, watching as the stem curls into a vine. You continue on the path, stopping to grab a few Shimmering Pebbles along the way. You hear a rustling up ahead, followed by a low growling, and decide it is best if you leave now before you become lunch...

What do smooth gems do exactly? I don't remember seeing them on the items list at the beginning.

Can I go foraging?

You roam through the Umber Forest on Lavastar, excited to be able to ride on them now. They stop by a shady cove and rear back slightly, backing up from a pile of pebbles. You hop off of their back and inspect the pebbles, when you are bombarded by a strange Nudibuck. Lavastar immediately picks the young one up off of you, dangling it in the air by the scruff while you catch your breath. When it is let down, it guiltily walks up to you and pushes the pebbles into your reach. You pick them up, noticing a smooth gem among them, and move to return to your steed. When you look down, the new child is following close by you, excited to join you.

You and Ari enter the forest, with Ari hiding in the occasional bush to play a game of hide and seek. At some point, they emerge with a long thin twig in their mouth, five leaves attached to it. They rip a leaf off and munch down, suddenly growing larger out of seemingly nowhere. You are startled as Ari grows into an adult and take the rest of the leaves before they can eat them. As Ari continues to prance around with you, hiding now and again, they find a small stash of pebbles too, handing them off to you. You finally pack up and go home, now able to ride your floral scented friend.
