I feel so stupid I keep typing stuff and then erasing it because I'm scared to speak my mind or it'll probably be taken in the wrong context and won't make sense and it'll seem like I'm randomly bringing something up or stating the obvious when I'm actually trying to ease into a conversation with my usual self defense mechanism of deflection and humour and I really wanna open up to more people but it's hard because of said reasons and I know in theory that I should grab the bull by the horns and just talk but wow does my brain not want me to do that

or I make a typo say writing 2k instead of 20k and I wanna correct it but then it'll seem like I did that on purpose to get attention/praise and while that's not the case it's not like i'd be against either of those and that makes me feel an automatic guilt response to whatever I just did and then I figure 'well it's just a typo nothings wrong' and I deflect whatever praise I'd get from it in effect making myself worse and I could break the cycle by just speaking but that just doesn't happen does it

I know this'll seem stupid, but you're right. Literally the only way to break the cycle is to go and say it out loud. I'm fairly certain you know what you're doing, right it here anyways. But you know that's not how it works. You need to personally state it, not hope they notice in a round about. Go get 'em tiger, alright? I believe in you, enough for the both of us.
