"Hey Aftyn?" Calisto called to him with her sing song voice. "Are we ready yet? I can't wait...I think. My thoughts are too jumbled." She sighed, and did a handstand, then walked forward on her hands. Why? Because it was something to keep her mind off other things.

Aftyn looked behind him, smiling cheerfully when he saw Calisto.
"Almost, I hear it's going to be very packed tonight. Ringmaster wants us to be a little extra "bedazzling" tonight." He turned around in his chair to face her.
"Anything you want to let out? I'm all ears."

"I was j-j-just thinking about the boy who caught on fire." Calisto said, righting herself, and standing shyly. "I don't want to burn up. Or die yet." She said, hiding her face, sure that what she was saying was against the rules. She hadn't been here long, so she didn't know absolutely everything.

Aftyn's gaze softened as he stood up and put a hand on her shoulder. It was indeed horrifying to watch Johnathan burn alive, and the ringmaster player it off as an act afterwards.
"It's alright, I promise you won't die. I'll make sure of it. A-And it sounds dark, but I've been here long enough to know the ringmaster doesn't kill newbies, unless you give him a reason."

"Thanks." Calisto shuddered. "But, have I given him a reason?" She asked quietly, thinking all the dark thoughts that can follow that. "I don't want to die though..." She sighed, hand going up to her mouth to cover up the fact that she was biting her lip in confusion and fear. She tried to tell herself that she was going to be fine, but it seemed...questionable.

Aftyn shook his head quickly.
"No, no, you haven't. Just for your sake don't argue back with him like Ymir does, Ymir can only do that because she's actually known the ringmaster since they were children."
He gave Calisto a light hug, trying to reassure her everything was going to be okay.
"A-And don't be around me when he shows up. He doesn't like me, and I don't want you getting in trouble just because you talk to me."

"Such beautiful creatures when they aren't tryin to kill you..." The ringmaster murmured as he stared at the tigers in their cage. He noticed their ribs sticking out more than usual, and he sighed.
"Might have to start feeding them the performers at this rate, meat is so expensive." He said a bit darkly, but wasn't serious. It was hard to tell when he was serious or not.

"That's silly." Calisto laughed, and hugged him back. "He can't just not like you. You're likable." She said, looking around for her mountain lion stuffed animal so she could 'put him to bed' before the show. "Do you know where Puma is? He needs to fall asleep before I go."

Aftyn smiled a little at that, and looked around for a moment.
"I think I saw him by the pillows in the other room. I'll help you look." He replied, walking towards the other room where some other performers were getting ready.

"Thank you so much!" Calisto said, following after him, sure to keep close and not get lost. "He must be worried since I have lost him...Oh, I've lost him haven't I!" She said, realizing that she had at the moment.
