She smirked and didn't reply, but hurried down to the water's edge and tip toed into the water. "Not too cold..." she said.

"We're kind close to the equator, so it shouldn't be too cold."

She stared at the horizon, her eyes squinting. It was only a few hours past midnight so the sun wasn't up yet. "Hmm...if we can't repair the plane... maybe we can sail out. There have to be boats somewhere here."

"You want to sail from the middle of nowhere to land? That would take at least two and a half months."

"Great." She said, plopping down into the sand. "Now I'm stuck here. On an empty island with strangers."

"Well, you're not the only one. At least it has everything you could want or need," he attempted to cheer her up, even just a little bit

"I guess." She said, turning to give him a sad smile. "And at least you all aren't hopeless- you seem pretty smart. But something's very wrong and we need to leave."

"Well, so far all of our chances of leaving are in the dust. And until we either figure out what's going on or find a way off of this island, might as well enjoy it."

"You're right." She agreed, nodding. "I guess I should relax until someone gets here."

He nodded
