"Alright then. Follow me." the Doctor led her to a large mansion across the street from the Citadel entrance. The streets of Gallifrey looked almost like the streets in London, though they were much more alien. The Doctor knocked on the door. It creaked open and an elderly woman greeted them.
"Ah, hello Doctor. You've regenerated." the Woman said, a smile spread across her face.
"Hello mother. I'd like to introduce you to Jade, my travelling.... assistant."

Jade bowed kindly just because she hoped for respect and not to be shoved around.

The Woman (the Doctor's mother) took one look at Jade and said, "Oh my Rassilon! You're so skinny! Here come in side, you need feeding up!" She led Jade over to a table, had her sit down, and hurried off to cook. A little girl wandered into the dining room looking sleepy.
"Oh, hey Doctor." she yawned. Then realization dawned on her. She hurried off yelling, "EVERYBODY! THE DOCTOR'S BACK, AND SHE BROUGHT A FRIEND!!!"

Jade felt like rolling her eyes but she didn't. She felt somehow at home.

The little girl returned later, followed by her thirty-two cousins.
"Ulinatuv, you didn't have to make such a big deal..." the Doctor groaned, putting her face in her hands.
"Well," Ulinatuv started, "I haven't seen you in 93 years."

Jade silently gasped in shock.

"Hey, 93 years is like seven human years for us." the Doctor explained.
"OI, YOU LOT, SIT DOWN!" the Woman said, carrying a gigantic pot of stew over to the table.
The Doctor's family all sat down immediately.

Jade suddenly was relieved.

The Woman poured soup into each person's bowl, and gave extra to Jade.
"You need to eat it all now, I'll know if you didn't. The bread's almost ready, by the way." she said, before hurrying off towards the kitchen.

Jade sipped the soup cautiously. She thought of everything she had witnessed before this.
