Gliding out, she dropped suddenly as her backward wings closed in the wind. Barely managing to snap them open before she hit the floor, she landed awkwardly on her paws. Running towards a dead tree, she took what little shelter is had to offer.

There were more sandwiches and two steaks.

On the roof, they were curled up together. His amber eyes flicked open at the other one sitting shortly on the tree and stifled a yawn.

Shaking the rain water off of her fur, she shivered. Spreading her wings in a way that made the downy tips spread out wide, she covered herself. The feathery tips helped warm her, and soon she dozed off.

Staring into the pools forming around him, he let out a tapping foot.

He smiled at his mate, who looked at the clutch of eggs.

Growling in her sleep, Cloud clawed at the tree.

His pelt rippled and he snorted loudly.

Cloud snapped at nothing and woke up. Shaking her head, she looked at the bottom of the dead tree's base. Finding a few edible plants, she gobbled them up.

Trilling, a bird flew into the tree.

(Shots were fired) Cloud ignored it, chewing the plant.
