Spillage rumbles in response to the complement, slowly gliding forward to blink at Ember with large, black eyes before she proceeds to ignore the boundaries of personnel space to press her face against the hands at her side.

Rather than getting scared or upset, Ember smiled and pet the dragon gently. *good boy? Girl?* she asked, looking at Kavaratti.

"Girl," Kavaratti answers, before another call echoes in the distance, causing Spillage to sink back into the sea with a rumbled good-bye.
"That should be her pod," he explains. "They won't attack us either, and they'll visit occasionally." Today shouldn't be one of those days though, considering that Spillage swam back instead of staying.
"It's their feeding season, so it seems like Spillage isn't going to be staying long." She could likely sense Alexis's unease too, though that seems to have vanished with Ember's presence. He supposes that she wouldn't be afraid of dragons, given that she's hinted that she's fought a few before--though not killed, at Alexis's discretion.
Hopefully she doesn't have an issue with his profession.

She smiled and stared at the dragons as they left. *. . . Its beautiful.* she whispered, her voice a mix of Alexis and Embers. *. . . Peace. . . Peace is possible.*

That gives Kavaratti pause, leaving the dragon hunter to turn towards Ember despite the way his right hand remains on the railing and his body leans towards the sea, longing. A warning lingers on his tongue, but he holds it back with the knowledge of the other's skill.
"It is," he agrees at last. "It's rare, though. I've only met her, though maybe that has something to do with my profession."
They sail further into the dark waters, and he returns to his position by the bow.
But the thought lingers. He fights the urge to find something to do, to prepare the weapons or sort through the supplies, and stays put.
"If you're going to seek it," he says, the end of his words coming in the sound of a quiet sigh, "then be careful, would you?"

She nodded, not looking at him. She stared out at the ocean where the dragons had dissapeared into, quiet. Then, after a moment, she took a step back, closed her eyes, and let out a massive roar that shook the entire ship, and caused small waves around the ship to be pushed away, like the epicenter of a small tsunami.
But this wasnt a call to arms, or a battle cry, or anything like that.
It was just. . . Emotion. Fear. Confusion. Anger. Sadness. Joy.
And hope.
Hope for things to get better. For war to end. For peace to be possible.
The roar lasted for about 10 seconds, before she quieted down, shook herself gently, opened her eyes again, and then walked below deck.
. . .
This girl would definitely make this trip interesting, thats for sure.
(For reference, the roar sounded a lot like Kongs roar, but more. . s feminine, I suppose.)

The sound sends Kavaratti's skin prickling despite his familiarity with Squaldron calls, leaving him watch as the ship shakes and the sea trembles. It's a primordial sound, something that makes the hunter wonder if he's found a demigod in human skin.
The chorus of draconic roars that rise in response do little to dispel that superstition.
Dark eyes glance back Ember before Kavaratti shakes his head, rising and turning to join her in inspect their supplies. It's fine. God or not, he's not the one who has a reason to be scared.

Maybe Ill do it. Not for Alexis/Ember, but maybe another character.)
Ember was back into Alexis, and she was sharpening her scickles and humming.

(ooh, looking forward to it! especially since we're planning on visiting some other civilizations aside from the Vikings at some point.)
Kavaratti pauses at the entrance of the storage space, watching as the lantern light filters around the other's figure to form a sharp silhouette. He evaluates her body language and settles in on the other side of the small room.
"Sorry for not warning you," he says, having decided that this is Alexis. "I didn't realize that we'd encounter Spillage on the route back, so I neglected to warn you."

Alexis looked up and smiled. *its alright. Meeting a dragon without fighting. . . Touching a dragon. . . Its amazing.* she said softly. *. . .
. . . So why do you kill them, if they trust you? Why break that sacred trust?*
