"Well, think about it this way," Latan says. "Had he been uninjured, we'd probably have a bit more to worry about right now."

"Like... What...?" I say looking at Latan slightly concerned.

"The fact that Luca intended to attack Sibnele broke the pact Iskren made with him, granting Sibnele free reign to basically do whatever."

"Oh god..." I said glancing at the greater demon sadly "wow... Hm... Well... Good thing I wasnt in distance... But before we went to see if Luca was alright... He sat with me and we talked like actual people and no hate... Well I called him an inky jerk... Then he asked me why I waa being so salty... Otherwise... Nothin..." I said rubbing the bridge of my nose then my temples.

"Just because he became a Devil through loneliness and depression doesn't mean that he can't experience 'human' emotion." Latan grins. "You probably hurt the feelings he shoved deep down. Somehow."

"Well... I guess... Now I feel bad... Seeing him like this... It makes me feel like Im the bigger threat..." I say glancing down at my hands playing with the flames I started to create that then ended up turning a purple color and it got a little bit but not much.

Latan holds his palm in front of you. A ball of white fire bursts to life above it. "What is this?"

"I dont understand you're question..." I say moving my gaze to him then the white fire.

"Well, I guess that doesn't matter." He gestures to the flame. "Let's say this is an untainted human soul. It's happy and has everything it wants." Latan holds up his other palm. A ball of black fire sputters up, and he holds it to the white flame. The black flame gradually overpowers the other, until there is just two balls of black fire. "That's what happens when something chaotic takes place - death, loss, stuff like that."

Latan extinguishes the seconds flame. Pinching the other, he peels it in half like a burning banana. There are still small specks of white fire spitting in the core. "But, it will never fully become the affinity of the events that happened to it."

I move my head to the side, as I inspect the black but wjite on the inside flame, "that... Makes more sense..." I say staring at it "why... Are you showing or telling me this stuff...?" I ask looking at Latan in question.
