The rat knocked down Kaladin's spear and went to attack above it when a stone from a sling hit his shoulder and fractured it. Gripping his shoulder the smuggler was breathing hard.

If Kaladin had looked left he would have seen the grey wolf with blue eye's ghost.
The smuggler saw this and trembles.
