Shade seemed awful stiff when he said friends,but he gently patted Riley's head. "...It's fine.I just...have had bad experiences and ... reasons that I lost most sanity." he mumbled.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that then. I've just... friends have always been the best people to me. Sorry." Riley seems to shrink. He hadn't meant to resurface whatever experience Shade had had.

He sighed,noticing him shrink and so pulled back.He felt bad to have made him shrink supposedly. "It's fine..." he said softly,then his angry and hateful self came back. "It doesn't matter." His voice gone hard again and he seemed flat out angry at everything.Again.

Riley imagined for a few short seconds. If this was a game, I'd probably have this big [Game Over] sign above my head. Ah, well... Unfortunately -or fortunately - this isn't a game. It's real life. Riley lifts his head from his hands for a moment. "A-are you sure? It seems it matters to you, though? I don't think anyone would be angry if something didn't matter."

Shade just glared to the side at nothing really. "Tch." he said nothing,but his wings where droopy just by the slightest.

He needs a hug. Riley thinks to himself, and instinctively he was already giving Shade a small hug. "I'll always be here if you need someone." Riley says.

Automatically Shade almost shoved him away,but his mind said it was just Riley and that stopped him.Why? He didn't know. He just...felt relaxed though and his head leaned into Riley's shoulder and his wings slumped. "Please." He murmured. "Don't be like Jason...please....please." His voice less than a whisper and mostly just a begging to the air.

Almon raised an eyebrow. "Well I've never seen them do anything here, but if you accidentally wander into a lab, they have a whole bunch of pointy things, take people's DNA and do a whole bunch of weird voodoo magic on it. Science is just the worst."

Astra raised an eyebrow. "I guess, I'm not quite sure how all of this works but if I'm allowed to then sure." She turned to Nic. "I know like two words in French, say that in a language I can understand please."

A short siren blasted once, which would usually signify it was time to start working, but they had someone to greet first. As the elevator doors opened, there was a single kid in them. They don't usually only bring one kid down, so he must be...er...special.
