The king's laughter echos through the throne room, earning a chuckle from Caspian and a soft giggle from the queen. "Son, you don't know how often they do." The king laughs.

He was just glad he earned a laugh from them. "Really?" he asked, not at all fazed. "What has been the closest they've gotten to taking over?"

Caspian snarls, the queen glares, and the King growls loudly, all glaring at Nick. The guards sneer at him, their hands on the hilts of their swords.

"Sorry, sorry, I was just wondering if they've ever managed to infiltrate your very strong and well managed ranks. I won't ask again."

"Do you doubt our strength, you pathetic human?!" The king snaps, earning a furious growl from Caspian.

Nick quickly shook his head. "No, sir. Of course not, sir. I know that your kingdom is the strongest in the world. You have the strongest guards and it is obvious that your family is close."

"Now he boasts about a kingdom he does not know!! How foolish are you child?!!" The king snaps. Suddenly Caspian is standing in front of Nick, his back to his mate and in mid-shift. He was part Lycan, part human, he was growling at his father. Meanwhile, the queen was taken away to safety, the guards seeing what would come next.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you or your kingdom, Your Majesty," Nick said, pleased that his voice didn't break. "I still have a lot to learn, and I know that. I should've just kept my mouth shut."

"YES, YOU SHOULD HAVE, BOY!" The king snaps, standing and sneering at his son. "Don't you dare challenge me, Caspian, you will fail!!" The king snarls at his son.

Nicholas remains silent. Somehow he had gone from getting laughs to everyone being mad at him. He obviously didn't know what to say when he was here.
