Maverick was tempted to dig his heels into the ground to resist, but he pushed back his instincts and let them push him towards the cave.

For once, Maverick understands. It was a miracle. He nodded. "Yeah, that would be smart, huh?" He goes into the cave and goes to check up on Desta, see if she was doing any better or worse
