If you don't mind can you slowly work your way into getting scales?
For pet dyes, or you can make a forum like some people do. Like interest check and for help, give em a discount.
I would do it but idk which section it would go under.

i have 78, and i don't know how to collect more, or what they're good for

To get scales you go into hatchery, hit the button that says help nurture pets. Then you can nurture your pets, friends pets, players who have nurtured your pets, or people online's pets. If you hit the scale shop you can buy eggs or potions, and pet dyes.
