What you don't remember is that I was the only one left in the pen when everyone else was taken out. I was bought by a dog-fighter and I would have died if it hadn't been for a silver bear-dog named Moon. Even though Moon was small the tricks she knew were something else entirely. She taught me those moves and eventually I managed to escape only to be captured by a smuggler. From that smuggler came three others, I won't go into detail, but why I asked that question is when I escaped from the second smuggler I was attacked by a bear and then by a pack of wolves, Kai takes a deep breath, I just want to make sure these wolves aren't like those wolves.

Valko nodded thoughtfully. ....No. They aren't. They don't hunt just for fun like some other wolves, and for all theor cunning, they aren't malicious.

Kai nods once, Good.

Valko sat down a scratched his ear. How else can I enlighten you today? He asked with a chuckle.

How did you get to the island, Kai asks.

Valko huffed. Oh, boy. Well, I was purchased by this captian who was searching for a fine guard dog for the ship. It was an okay job, and I was treated well enough. I wasn't really anyone's pet though, just a dog doing his work... And then a strom hit. The ship wrecked on the rocks just off the coast of the island, so naturally I swam to shore. I think the survivors think I'm dead; I know a few got away.

Do you know if a grey cat named Jacob was on that ship, Kai asks.

The canine tilted his head. Jacob? Er... not sure. The name sounds familiar, but I can't place my paw on it.

Jacob Calico, Kai tries again, short sutbby grey tail.

Hrm.... Actually, yes. I think there was. Didn't care for him much, and he hardly noticed me. Valko replied.

Sakani and Kaladin looked over at the two dogs. "Strangely enough, I also remember a cat like that." He added.
