The collie shrugged. "Maybe he had ah hard time gettin' 'im ta sleep?" He suggested.
"He was out within moments when I left...." Kaladin replied

"Maybe he wants him to sleep as long as he can or is worried we might ruff him up a little,'' Nathanial suggests, "that or Selkie will wake up and be just as energetic as I remember?"

"Prob'ly the former." Locke spoke.

"Figures on that," Nathanial mutters, "how badly hurt is he?"

"I'll say it was an arrow wound and that said arrow was very nerve-racking to remove." Kaladin said.

Nathanial pales, "I bet it was since it was barbed."

Kaladin nodded, then paused, staring at the walrus with a bit of apprehension. "How did you know...?"

"I made the arrows under that barbarian's rule," Nathanial held his breath, "sorry but you get the gist."

Kaladin looked more surprised than angry, and Locke merely nodded in total understanding.

"I wouldn't have done so if I had a choice but seeing one of my mates slaughtered before me and they threated to harm another if I didn't I had to," Nathanial tells more for himself then them.
