She of course fights back and tries to keep herself in place, but since he's stronger than her he's still able to force her forwards.

Once they got down the stairs, he adjusted so her back was pressed to his chest, her arms stuck between them, his arm in a vice-like grip around her waist. This way, it would look a lot less suspicious than him holding her hands behind her back.
