I looked back into the pantry. "That was not there." I told him looking at his overfull pantry. "What's your culture like? And the people what do they look like?" I asked mixing the stuff to make batter.

He sighed, gathering his thoughts on the matter. "We just kind of have some weird things we do for holidays. I don't know, I don't pay much attention, due to me not really having any family nearby.", He paused, making a clicking noise before continuing. "Monsters can look pretty human. Unlike me, most monsters have monster attributes to their human appearance. Also, most monsters are canid or feline in looks when in a monster form. Almost all of them are on all fours though." He paused for a moment, looking at the back of his right hand.

"I'm more human, but a lot less cuddly looking when in my monster form. I look like one of those things from a horror film.", He sighed. "They might be stronger, and supposedly faster, but I'm smarter. I can outrun a farel monster as long as my mind is clear."

"Why don't you visit your family?" I gently pressed. "You could have seen any recent horror movies then. They're not even scary anymore." I told him. "There are feral monsters?" I asked. "Why aren't all of them civilized? Is it their choice or does your society not let them?" I had stopped stirring the batter looking at him with eyes that were lit with a hunger to learn about his world.

"My parents aren't all too fond about my sexuality, so I cut ties with them as soon as I graduated high school.", He replied. "What I mean by farel is, highly aggressive middle schoolers who have the taste for a gay kid's blood."

"And you have yet to see some of our horror movies."

"Oh I'm sorry." I told him. I looked up at him. "I bet your horror movies are less scary then ours." I told him. "Screw your parents. They're more then lucky to have a son like you." I looked down at the batter. "The batter's ready."

He chuckled, not complementing on Ty's nievity to the horror of the horror films. "My parents suck, and I don't like talking about it.", he said quietly, handing him a pan.

"Sorry." I apologized. "I shouldn't have brought it up." I put the pan onnthe stove and started cooking.

He bit the inside of his cheek, watching him. "No need to say sorry.", He replied after a moment. "You didn't know."

"Okay." I agreed. I concentrated on makijg sure the food didn't burn because I didn't know what to say. A awkward silence filled the air.

He yawned, laying down on the table lazily.
