She chuckled and opened Arden's cage. The barn owl hopped up her shoulder as the hatch swung open, then gently bit a strand of her hair and watched Sebastian. He hooted to Spectre, fluttering his wings slightly.

Sebastian made it to the top step and opened Spectre's cage too. "Be good," he hissed at the owl." Spectre seemed satisfied to perch on his shoulder and hoot back at Arden. "So, let's make a bet," he said seriously.

Arden clicked his beak and tilted his ears in response. Rayne's eyes brightened when she heard 'bet'. "Make a bet? On what?"

"Who gets more first years. Slytherin or Ravenclaw. I win if Slytherin gets more, you win if Ravenclaw does," he said. "Loser owes the other butterbeer."

"Sure." She said, grinning and holding her hand out. "Let's shake on it," the brunette added, her grey-blue eyes narrowed and her eyebrows raised slightly. She assessed his expression, but couldn't decipher what his thoughts were. Does he think he's gonna win?

Sebastian flicked his eyes from her hand to her eyes and pressed his lips together to keep himself from grinning at the thought of a free butter beer. He raised his eyebrow back at her and shook her hand.

"And so it's done. No backing out now- for you, I mean, I wouldn't even think of it." The Ravenclaw turned and continued to walk, keeping pace to walk next to him. "Prepare to buy me a butter beer on the first Hogsmeade trip."

Sebastian kept stride with Rayne. "Yeah right, you'll be the one paying," he said, and Spectre hooted loudly, perhaps in agreement with him. Hopefully.

"If you're sure," She said, a smile forming on her lips. "Y'know, you're not bad. The Gryffindors hate you Slytherins. They complain about you lot... quite a bit." She was friends with mostly Ravenclaws, but a few Gryffindors had made her acquaintance last year.

Sebastian smiled shyly. "Yeah, Griffindors hate me, Slytherins hate me. I just can't win," he said, shaking his head with a grin and stuffing his hands in his pockets.
