"I came here to find somebody suitable to possess." Merikh said quietly. He suddenly felt ashamed, and found himself staring down at the runes as he talked, unable to look Vilas in the face. He thought about telling her he'd considered possessing her, but quickly decided against it. Making your captors hate you is probably not the smartest decision, since he was at their mercy. He continued panting, wondering why he felt the need to breathe if he was dead and didn't need the air, before reminding himself to stay focused.
(I looked at your designs in the generator, Kromma, they're gorgeous!)

(Oh, really? Thanks! I knew they were cool by my standards since I designed them, but they didn't seem to get many favorites, so I figured most other people didn't like them much. ^-^')
Vilas wasn't exactly shocked, but she was a bit disconcerted by his admission. "I suppose I should've guessed that... Wait, what do you mean by suitable?" She noticed something odd about his behavior, and decided to address it, "Say, um, could you tell me why your breathing so hard? Is the magic ring painful to you?" She couldn't help the concern in her voice.

"I wish I knew. Normally I don't breathe at all since I died. It probably has something to do with the magic dampeners... maybe ghosts use magic in place of air. But it isn't all that hard, it just feels like I ran a long way..." the Ryori replied. "I wonder if a ghost would suffocate with enough magic dampeners..." He shook his head suddenly. What was he doing, giving a scientist ideas of how to possibly kill him? "Forget I said anything. I'll just answer your other question." He paused and swished his tail around the floor to the other side of his paws. "When I possess someone, I'm going to do it with the intent of staying there. So I'd need to pick out...ah, a male. And maybe, if I'm lucky, a Ryori like I..." He trailed off, and his ears flattened as an unsettling thought occurred to him. Should he say he's still a Ryori? Or a ryori like he used to be? He didn't quite know the answer, and it disturbed him. He also wasn't sure if he should share his...other requirements for a body, but he had to say something after suddenly stopping like that. "A-and, if I have to k-- er, take someone to live again, I think it should be someone who causes suffering to those around them...someone vicious and cruel." He finished awkwardly. His gaze hadn't moved from his spot on the floor.

"That would be terrible..." Vilas said softly, shuddering at the thought of suffocating a spirit. She thought about her words and then said, "I don't think you're really a bad person. If you were, who wouldn't care if the body you were taking belonged to the nicest kind of person, you'd just care that you lived again." Without stopping for more than a few seconds, she continued, "What other questions could I ask... I can't really think of anything to ask. Or, more accurately, how to word my questions. If you have anything to ask me, I could try to answer. But I don't really know much yet..."

Merikah looked up immediately upon being asked if he had any questions, his eyes brightening. "Yes!!" He shouted excitedly, his tail starting to swish back and forth. "Ah, forgive me for that...it's just that spirits mostly avoid each other in the wild, and you've been the first person I've talked to... I've had a lot of questions since I first woke up." He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, steeling himself for the answer he may not like. "What...what year is it...?" He asked softly, fearing the answer.

Rina woke to sunshine peeking through the trees. She got up immediately, ready to continue traveling. She sniffed around for a bit, trying to figure out where she had come. Once she had found the path, she turned from where she came, and continued traveling. The fresh smells of the forest made her feel excited, and soon found herself running. The wind felt so nice, and the air smelled so... yummy.
Suddenly Rina stopped. It smelled like... freshly baked bread. She saw something ahead, and quickly ran forward as a huge city came into view. Excited, Rina looked around. She couldn't find a gate, but she did see a crack in the wall. Rina crouched down and tried to get through. The crack was no large one, but Rina was a small child, and managed to squeeze through. The buildings went up high, and there were houses everywhere, and streets were bustling with Sylesties. Most of them were in too much of a hurry to notice Rina.
"Hello, dear! Where are your parents?" Rina looked to see a Qitari looking at her. Rina tried to think of what to say, then unable to find any words she ran away. Through the streets she ran, until she came upon a huge tower. It was the same size as the others, but seemed a lot bigger up close. Rina opened the door a little and peeked in. She saw that there was several Sylesties hanging out. Rina noticed that some of them seemed kind of pale and... transparent. But that didn't concern her as much as the staircase behind them. She looked around quickly to make sure no one noticed her, then she crouched down, ready to make a sprint for it. She was relying on her speed to get inside without getting caught.
Then a Griffi made an apparently hilarious joke, flapping it's wings. Rina saw this as her chance. As all of the other Sylesties laughed, Rina bolted, right through them, jumping over someone's tail, and started racing up the stairs. She heard some shouts and footsteps. They were coming after her fast, but Rina was faster. She raced past doors, until she got to the top, then she entered the first door she saw, which was slightly open, and slammed it behind her. Rina stood there in the darkness, barely daring to breath. There was some footsteps, and some muffled talking, then silence. Finally Rina let out her breath.
She tried to move around, then bumped into something. She tried to feel around for a lightswitch, but couldn't find any. Rina sat down and started to plan her next move. She didn't know what she had gotten herself into, but she did know she couldn't get caught.
(This is Alala's room btw)

(Does it go by the actual year? XD Or did it say what the year was in the sign up and I just forgot/didn't see it?)
Vilas wasn't sure why that was his first question, but she answered anyway, "It's... It's 2017. I'm really the first you've spoken to? That must've been lonely..." She hesitated on the last word, and hoped the pain in her voice wasn't noticeable. She knew full and well the pain of loneliness. She wasn't quite sure if she should tell about Zerial, after all, she didn't want to find common things with Merikh if Alala was going to get rid of him eventually. She couldn't deal with losing someone she had an attachment to again.

The puff stopped when he felt the same eyes on him he had throughout all of their travels it seemed. "You can come with us too if you want." He side to seemingly no one as he looked I tot he wood line. From them the fealora stepped out. His body was that of a skeleton though a faint outline of his old body remained. Shyly he took a step towards them. "That's it you can come with us as well." Hewie nodded in understanding though took no more steps Finian.

When Fluffers saw the faelora, she was curious. 'He/She's transparent, like us' she thought. Fluffers was happy to have them along. The faelora seemed shy, like her. As they traveled, they passed many fallen buildings. Fluffers wondered if Sylesties actually used to live here.

(It goes by the actual year.)
"Oh..." Merikh whispered, feeling faint. "Oh." He slowly slid to position in which he was lying down. He already knew he was dead, why did knowing how long it's been matter? And yet, knowing he'd been dead 167 years felt a little like dying all over again. Ears flattened in strange grief, he felt his eyes watering. "You might want to get a sample...I'm about to cry. And since I don't have water in my body, this could be a chance to find what I'm made of or something." He said quietly, slightly embarrassed. But he wanted to know the where his tears were coming from if he no longer had the water to produce them.
