"Makes me wonder how many we missed or if these were not Black Beard's crew," Douglas looks away from the trap, "Should we keep searching for Selkie today or start again in the morning?"

Haken glanced up at the sky again. "We have a few more hours of daylight."

"Let's keep going then," Douglas spoke a frown pulling at his jaws.


Kai pants as she lies down, It hurts.

Haken paused and glanced back at him. "I take it you aren't exactly thrilled with..." He tilted his head towards the snare.

Kaladin stopped and sat down. "I know... I think we got away. You can take a break."

"I understand why the clans set traps but seeing the consequences just appals me," Douglas answers, "what if a mobian from the clan or ally accidently got caught in a snare trap?"


Kai nods once trying not to whine.


On the beach where the pirates were. A cocker spanial spoke rapid spanish trying to get the guard's attetion.

"The clan members know the location and how to identify the snares. I'm not sure about allies, though; You're the first people to fall under that catagory in decades, so it hasn't crossed anyone's mind." Haken truthfully responded.

Douglas nods once, "This isn't the first clan that's like that I've met."



Kai shook her head, I don't think so.

Haken grimmaced, but turned and kept walking, following the trail of disturbed plant life.

Kaladin frowned and opted to simply petting her for now.

Kai lifts her head and sniffs, I think Douglas might be close by.


"Haken the clans and tribes that are like that are generally good just untrusting because of something that happened," Douglas tries to comfort him.

Haken somehow looked neither offended nor reassured. He simply replied with a bried nod.
