Fatespeaker growled and Shade stopped crying, shaking it out despite his distress. He bounded over and hissed at the person, growling. Fatespeaker then continued fighting the ice, clearly not going to be able to do anything and she obviously knew it. Jason wouldn't have responded even if he could. He wanted to just hide, and go and die in the moon fields where he should have 17 years ago. Being only a teen and having seen and gone threw all this and more yet in the dragon realm,he wondered how he still cared at times.

Ash's silvery eyes peered through the wall separating them, as bright and soulful as ever. The torment on his face was shocking as if he were the one trapped and unable to breathe.

Jason's heart ached almost as much as his fractured and broken body did,but he closed his eyes, not wanting to dare see the expression. "Go...a...w...ay!" Hissed Fatespeaker, well it sounded more like someone trying to talk under water but she tried as she bumped herself into Ash's leg, trying to push him away but clearly it did no good. Shade hugged Jason's leg, wings and arms around the ankle. He cried, hard,a heart broken wintery sound.

"No," Ash whispered to Fatespeaker. "Hang on," he murmured, now speaking to Jason, pressing his forehead to his through the wall. "I'm getting you out of there." He leaned back, both hands against the ice, and closed his eyes. The air began to vibrate; a tremor shook the walls around him, and tiny cracks spider-webbed through the ice. With the sound of breaking glass, the prison shattered, shards flying outward but somehow leaving Jason unscathed. Ash knelt beside him as support.

Jason almost collapsed but yanked his body away from Ash,clutching his horns that had cracked almost fully off due to the pressure. He shook, pain still from the cracks in his body and the bindings of his arms came off, sliding off. Shade clung to him desperately, squeaking rapidly as to say to never do that again. Fatespeaker, clearly trying not to cry, gave Ash a thankful nod before leaping over and flying up behind Jason to keep his back steady as he swayed, taking in air so fast that puffs of smoke came from him. His freckles and under wings where maroon, white and sick green but faintly red at the edges.

Ash noticed and stood. He held Jason, his arms were locked around his shoulders, pressing him to his chest, his cheek resting against his wet hair. Jason could hear his rapid heartbeat. As soon as Jason was breathing normal, Ash pulled away, dropping his black coat around his shoulders. "Can you walk?" he whispered, and his voice was urgent. "We have to get out of here, now."

"I can walk, your highness." He said, being strangely respectful. He clearly was forcing himself to understand that they weren't equals. Ash above Jason who was a simple dragon. "Why go? Sire,I mean...no disrespect...but....I said....I'd come back." He said, the smoke dissipated and his tail curling in tightly. Shadow fluttered up and was holding the fabric from his arm bindings that had come off, revealing long cracks, deep about half an inch, clawing up his arms from his palms and up. His heart ached so much,he wanted to hug Ash so badly but he knew that it wasn't right. He knew he couldn't.

Grabbing his wrist, Ash started leading him from the room. He looked impatient, stabbing his fingers through his hair in an uncharacteristically nervous gesture. "I'm taking you to Seelie territory," he snapped. "You can't be here now, not when a war is about to start. I'll get you safely over to your side and then I'm done with this."

He didn't fight, head down a bit. The two little ice creatures where jabbering faintly like winter winds as they fluttered between the two. "Why...it's not my side...I'm not a...fey."

"I know, but you're much safer there." He stopped dead in the middle of the hallway. "I'm sorry...about everything. Do you know what Rowan would do if he found out what we did? Do you know what Mab would do? I had to make them believe I didn't care, or they would've torn you apart." He sighed wearily, giving him a solemn look. "Emotions are a weakness here, Jason. And the Winter Court preys on the weak. They would've hurt you to get to me. Now, come on." He turned to start walking again. "Let's get out of here before its too late."
"I'm afraid it's already too late," drawled a snide, familiar voice. Ash jerked to a halt, yanking Jason behind him, as Rowan stepped out of the hallway, grinning like a cat. "I'm afraid your time just ran out."
