Jason growled in frustration,Shade snapping his jaws shut with icey eyes wide and guilty. Fatespeaker whimpered a snowy guilty sound. "Rrrr~! Rrrrr-" She whimpered as if to say no. Shade clutched his ice horns, breathing rapid breaths that released frozen snowflakes.

Rowan swept by with a platoon of guards. Queen Mab was close behind, and pretty much every Unseelie fey. They crowded into the room, and roars of fury and outrage filled the chamber when they saw the dead prince. He was pure ice now. Fey were screaming and crying, tearing at themselves and each other, demanding vengeance and blood. The Unseelie were outraged at the murder of a Winter prince in their own territory. That someone had dared slip in and kill one of their own, right under their noses. There was no sorrow or remorse for the prince himself, only fury and demands for revenge at the audacity of it. That begged the question if anyone would truly miss the eldest prince of Winter. Rowan stood over Sage's body, his expression eerily blank as he stared down at his brother. Amid the roars and cries of the fey around Rowan, he regarded his sibling with the curiosity one might show a dead bird on the sidewalk. Silence fell over the room, and a chill descended like an icy blanket. Mab was standing in the doorway, her gaze locked on Sage's body. Everyone backed away as she entered the throne room. You could hear a pin drop as the queen walked up to Sage's body, bending down to touch his cold, frozen cheek. The temperature was still dropping. Even some of the Winter fey looked uncomfortable as new icicles formed on the ceiling and frost crept over skin and fur. Mab was still bent over Sage, her expression unreadable, but her mulberry lips parted and mouthed a single word. "Oberon."

"Your majesty." Jason shook his head. "No,please.May I explain your highness?" Shade's ice wings shook out a bit and Fatespeaker nodded as her icey creature friend shrank back to his tiny size, crawling over to Jason and leaning on him as tiny drops of ice came from his silent guilty sobs. He squeaked to Jason as to say 'I'm sorry I couldn't help.',and Jason only stroked his little wings without looking at him.

Mab completely ignored him. Rough hands grabbed him by the arms and hair, dragging him away from everyone and everything.

And then Mab screamed, and the world shattered. Icicles exploded, flying outward like crystallized shrapnel, pelting everyone with glittering shards. The walls and floor cracked, and fey shrieked as they disappeared into the gaping holes. "Oberon!" Mab raged again, whirling with a terrifying, crazy look in her eyes. "He did this! This is his revenge! Oh, Summer will pay! They will pay until they are screaming for mercy, but they will find no pity among the Winter Court! We will repay this heinous act in kind, my subjects! Prepare for war!"

Jason winced and covered his ears, not fighting as Fatespeaker shrank and leaped over him. Her little legs having to work a bit more as she pulled still whimpering little Shade along by his scaled scruff, their tiny wings cracking as they curled up with tiny icey shrieks at the horrendous noise and power of the cry.

Something gripped Jason's feet, holding them fast. If he looked down he would see ice creeping up his legs, moving faster than he'd seen before. In the space of a blink, it had flowed up his waist and continued over his stomach and chest. Icy needles stabbed his skin.

He cried out softly, his fractured body in agony. The white tendrils faded and his eyes turned to their normal hazel and purple. Shade screeched softly in shock as he looked up and saw Jason's state. Fatespeaker saw him too and bounded over with tiny snout clear with fear. She started biting at the ice and slamming her little horns against it to try and break it but it did no good. Shade cried out in silent fear, his tiny icey tears only growling all the more as he cried. He was horrified at this point of everything.

(Gonna get a little controlling...sorry!)

Mab smiled a cruel, twisted smile, and still, the ice came on, creeping up his neck, burning his chin. It covered his lower jaw, and ice flooded his mouth. Before he could suck in another breath, it covered his nose, his cheekbones, his eyes, and finally reached the top of his head. He couldn't move. He couldn't breathe. His lungs probably burned for air, but his mouth and nose were filled with ice. He was drowning, suffocating, and his skin felt like it was being peeled away by the cold. Even though he couldn't breathe and his lungs screamed for oxygen, he didn't die.

Beyond the wall of ice, everything had fallen silent. Mab stood before Jason, her expression torn between triumph and hate. She turned back to her subjects, who watched her with wary eyes, as if she might lash out at them, too.

(don't worry. I don't mind. Sorry I took a while,had to rake a bit for dad.)

He realized what had just happened because the pain and burning, and the lack of death, matched what the middle prince had said before about those who disappointed the queen. 'Dang it.' He so wished that he hadn't said he would come back at that portal, that he had stayed back in the dragon realm instead. He'd so much rather be fighting and even close to actually dying instead of where he was right now.
Mini Shade was sobbing,a tiny shivering ice dragonet curled up tightly. "Eeeee-!" He cried out in sorrow as he sobbed. Fatespeaker looked close to tears as well but, being the stronger of the two, tried to attack the ice with no prevail. She hissed and scratched, little body of ice shaking as she realized it would do no good. She glared at the queen, icey eyes full of anger and frustration and sorrow. "Rrrrr~-!"

(No worries :3)

"Make ready, my subjects!" The queen rasped, raising her arms. "The war with Summer starts now!"
Another roar and the minions of the Unseelie court scattered, leaving the room with battle cries. Mab spared Jason one more glance over her shoulder, her lips curling into a snarl as she left. Silence fell, and Jason was left there to not die. When you can't breathe, each second feels like an eternity.

It wasn't sure how long he stood there, hours or only a few minutes, when a shadowy figure slipped into the room. Though he could still see out, the ice made everything cracked and distorted, so he couldn't tell who it was. The shadow hesitated in the doorway, watching him for a long moment. Then, quickly, it glided across the room until it stood next to her prison, laying a pale hand against the ice.

"Jason," a voice whispered. "It's me."
