"Heh. Well, he says that, but had I not headed to that Protector lab when he got scooped up, he'd probably have come looking for me himself anyways. CR-0's not one of the Exterminator drones, don't worry. He's from my home planet. He won't rat us out or anything."

He folded his arms.
"Besides, you just said it yourself, you need my help. We can handle ourselves just fine."

"I'm not worried about your drone. I'm worried about the fact that they think you're dead and are looking for your body. Honestly, your little bird friend just gave you some helpful information. I don't know how you're going to handle it, but I don't want you to get on the 'Exterminator's Most Wanted List' or something." Her eyes looked very concerned for him.

"I'm not particularly anyone important to them. In fact, they'd probably want me dead anyways, regardless of what you do. Definitely wouldn't be the first time they killed one of my kind for one of our cores." Scias exhaled a sigh riddled with sparks.
"Only reason I'm not a power generator to one of them right now is probably the fact I'm pretty good at winning them over. Hell, I'm not even a mercenary, but they don't need to know that. As long as I hit my kill numbers."

"So you lied to me, then?" Yep, should've expected that. She placed her hands on her hips, as she looked up at him.

"Well, not entirely." Scias shrugged.
"Just didn't think I could trust you either. I mean, I am still a soldier. Just didn't get roped into helping the Exterminators for money. Just my own tail. I was already on this planet on assignment, just out of keeping tabs on humanity for my own kind. But the difference between my species and these Exterminators is that we're not out here trying to conquer entire planets. Just trying to investigate into anything that seems like a huge threat to the rest of the universe."

"So you're saying that your species are peacekeepers? I don't care if you're a soldier I still trust you. Anyway, we should probably get going. I feel like we're being watched." She looked around the forest, trying to see if she was right.

"Close enough anyways."
Were those footsteps? He grimaced slightly at the sound of crunching leaves.
Scias couldn't clearly tell, but the unsteadiness the robot bird on his shoulder told him all he needed to know. He grabbed Corasi by the arm and pulled her with him as he took off running.
"Sorry about this, but we need to go, now."

"What's wrong? Exterminators?" She regained her footing and started running. "Something else?"

"Couldn't tell ya. But I don't like the sound of it. Hope you don't mind laying low for a sec, There's another encampment a mile or so east of here. It was cleared a few weeks ago, so with any luck, we shouldn't run into anyone there."

"Yeah, that's probably a good plan." She still heard leaves crunching behind them. "But maybe we should be quieter. I think whatever was following us is still following us."
