Jason pulled his wings in tight,almost flat,to his back. "Please tell me that was a joke." He said,part of his jockey tone back but not fully yet. 'A hunt for what?' He thought.

"You've never seen a wild hunt, have you." Ash groaned, running his fingers through his hair. "Dang. Well, this will complicate things." The baying grew closer, deep, throaty howls. Whatever was coming at them, it was big.

He was unsettled by what Ash said and his tail swished a bit,silently,side to side. But his eyes where wide even tho he seemed ready to fight if told to.

The howling was very close now, growing more and more frenzied. He searched for a hiding spot.

"Oh....dang...." Was all that came from under Jason's rapid breathing. He noticed that Ash was looking for somewhere to hide but didn't think that they could hide in time. He took in a deep breath and let his camouflage scales come quickly and fall to a pattern to match their surroundings as he wrapped his wings around the two of them,pulling Ash gently down and close enough so that they both fit in them,he was shaking a bit but knew what he was doing. He'd done this multiple times when having to fight in enemy territory.

And suddenly, a huge black creature burst from the ferns to their right and stopped, looking around, snapping its jaws. It was a hound, bigger than any other hound, with eyes of blue fire

Jason froze,his tail in and around bellow them so that they where hidden all around as if in a sphere. His breathing stopped.

The bushes exploded, five more monstrous dogs spilled into the road. They snarled and howled, snapping at each other

Jason almost gasped,ever so faintly shuttering in terror that shot through his pounding heart like a bullet. He struggled to keep his scales camo,but they stayed the say except that his freckle scales showed his fear...sick green fading and pulsing around a white center. Terror.

Ash could feel Jason's heart speed up. The massive jaws clicked shut inches from the dup. Then, through the trees, he was there. Ash. Or at least, someone who looked almost exactly like him. He was a lean figure on a huge black horse. His cruel, angelic face wore a smile as he drew back a large bow, an arrow glistening at the tip.
