He dug into the cake without further ado, letting out a small, breathy moan as it hit his tongue. The cake had a lot more substance than jelly, so the coffee flavor managed to come through even more, and the smooth texture felt like velvet, practically challenging him to a dance. The combined coffee jelly on top covered the whole thing in a gentle ribbon of rich flavoring.

Makoto knew how to expect a lot of things. He wasn't the only Teruhashi born with the uncanny, almost psychic-like precision of mind. It was hard to surprise him by normal means. The sound that he had just heard Kusuo make, however, surprised him. The downright grin on the others face was . . . amazing. He looked beautiful, and suddenly Makoto could swear the same aura that graced Kokomi and himself flared around the boy.

'Good grief, pretending I can't hear what this guy is thinking is only getting harder, especially when he makes me want to kiss him.' After finishing the cake, he turned to Makoto.

He blushed intensely, having just been caught in his lie. "Sa- . . Kusuo . . . I like you. A bit after I started coming over, I realized my feelings for Kokomi had left, and all I was left with was a strong adoration for you."
