He sighs, a car pulling up beside him and a man gets out, opening the door for him. "Just go to the edge of the village close by, North. You'll find a small cottage already built for you, it's not close to the palace so don't worry."

Rieka just rolled her eyes. She didnt plan on going to this house. She went inside and quickly packed stuff into a blanket.

He nods to one of the guards, ordering him to trail her and make sure she gets to the cottage.

She came outside with her little sack. She frowned when she realized the king had left a guard behind. She gave him a strange smile. She decided she would go to the house for the night and leave in the morning once the guard had left. With a little wave, she began walking to where the king had directed.

The guard followed quietly, tense and alert just as a guard should be. The king sped past, the purr of the engine seeming to calm the guard slightly.

Rieka sighed. I will miss that little house. It was nice and cozy you know. Better than my previous living conditions. I used to travel from kingdom to kingdom, selling my handmade goods. People would marvel at their beauty. It was a benefit of living in a time like this. So few people have seen something handcrafted. Eventually I settled down here. I think the one thing I miss from traveling is meeting new people. I dont talk to a lot of people anymore because they do things like this. Force me out of my lifestyle because they are supposedly helping me. Less Lucan contact was the price to pay for my way of life, but it was only one downside. You know I am not totally cut off from civilization. I too enjoy quite a few modern luxuries. Such as the doctors and medicines. Oh and I do quite love buying small simple items I can not make myself. I love the scented candles and delicious desserts made in town, you know, small things like that. I also come every year for the fair. I guess my life will be much more like that now, taking for granted those little things. Fitting in will be hard. I cant imagine how I will get used to this life. I dont think my neighbors will much like it if I drag home a fresh kill, but they will grow used to it, I am sure. she rambled. She sort of smiled reminiscing. She couldnt wait to get back to that. She imagined she would likely have to move quite far away.

The guard said nothing, continuing to watch the car that had the king in it drive off until it was out of view.

Ugh! Why are you guards always so silent! It is the worst! she yelled. She looked around. Maybe if she made a run for it, he wouldnt care. She thought about it for a moment but decided against it. Her original plan was best.

He watches her silently, "Do not mistake silence for ignorance, I am always watching and listening." He nods, going back to looking ahead and being tense.

Ok ok! Geez. I have one question. Why would the king FORCE me out of my home if I am happy there? she asked.
