I nod my head and glance back at them. "Mei." I call softly. She pads up behind me. "Will you help me protect them?" She lowers her head down and sniffs them, then gives them each a small lick. I smile, and speak to the voice again. "I will do everything I can to protect them, and then some. Thank you."
