Rookie slowed down a bot so he could search more thuroghly. He whipped a flashlight out of his toolbelt and shone it into an ally.

Knuckles strut down the street, following strictly that sixth sense to locate the Emerald. It was more accurate than most radars anyway. The neon lights were beginning to flicker on as the sky got darker, causing the echidna to wonder how people got any sleep around here.

"Nothing here," Rookie sighed. "Just a stray cat and a few pigeons,"

Knuckles pulled his sunglasses down over his eyes. "What's the point of all of this glowing stuff, anyway?" He pondered aloud. "Are they trying to make people go blind?"

She looked down at the ground, maybe it would be sticking out slightly

Rookie glanced around before moving on.

Knuckles picked up his pace to a trot, even though he was in no hurry. Soon, he felt like he was close enough to start searching.

She brushed some dirt off of a lump, but it was just a rock

Knuckles wasn't paying any attention to the civilians, and fortunately they didn't pay much attention to him as he kept up his search.

She groaned. Why would the emerald be here in a crowded city? Gems... she muttered
