Ase took the shield from her back and held if out in front of Anton. "There's no way I'm losing you now." She smiled pulling out her axe as the bandits rushed at them. She it some, hurting them but not killing them.

Marcurio whispered he words of the ancients willing his hands to engulf in flames. He hit one of the bandits with a fire ball killing them.

Anton unsheathed his rapier, glad that one or two of the bandits were armed with swords. This is the type of combat he was trained for. He yelled to Marcurio and Ase, "Can you guys take care of the archers?" He asked since they had magic. He charged at one of the sword bearers, and they clashed swords.

"On it!" Ase said charging up the hill shield in front of her. She used a spell of wind to blow the archers from their perches in the trees before killing them in hand to hand combat. "Alright, their all done up here!"

Marcurio shot another fire ball only managing to hit a bandit enough to set it on fire. "In coming! Flaming bandit on the lose!"

"Thanks!" Anton called to Ase. He quickly ended the swordfight, parrying his opponents blade and driving his rapier through the bandits heart. He whirled to face another, quickly dispatching of that one as well. "Marcurio, what have you done this time?!"Anton yelled jokingly.

"Sorry, I guess my aim is a bit off today." Marcurio said looking down at his hands and ending the spell. "Is that all of them?"

"So it appears," Anton said. He didn't sheathe his sword, but his grip loosened as he scanned the trees standing at the edge of the road.

"Good." Marcurio said dusting his hands off. "I think we did well for a day's work noting like. Good fight to raise the spirits am I right?" He chuckled some. "So shall we get going?"

Ase slid down the bank purring as she put away her weapon. She stopped suddenly. "Um...Marcurio?" She said a bit slowly. The man turned to her.

"That is I yes, is something the matter?" Marcurio asked looking at her in confusion.

"Nothing much, other than the fact that you have an arrow sticking out of your back..." Ase said approaching him. "How can you not feel that?"

Anton sheathed his weapon, and hurried over to Marcurio's side. He slung the backpack of his shoulders and began to rummage around in it, murmuring curse words.

A bandit crouched in the trees, watching the group silently. She pulled back on the bow. There was no way she would miss this shot. However, she paused, her fingers gripping the taunt string. She slowly returned the string to its original position, and put the unused arrow back into the case in her back. She cautiously crept closer to the group. They had nothing of obvious interest that she wanted, except possibly information. So she waited in the trees above the group.

Ase stopped messing with the arrow. "Guys I think we're not alone." She said her ears twitching as she heard the faintest of sounds. She listened yet heard nothing else. "I guess it was nothing, a bird maybe..." She said still on alert though.

"No I can't feel it.." Marcurio said trying to crane his head to look. "It is in there isn't it? I wonder how it got there without me noticing...can you help me pull it out?"

Anton rested his other hand on the shaft of the arrow. "Sorry, but you're going to feel it now," he said. He twisted the arrow slightly, making sure it wasn't lodged in bone or anything. "You're in luck, it's not lodged," he said. "But we're going to have to enlarge the wound slightly to get the arrow out.

She's sharp. Layla thought, shifting back ever so slightly so she was more hidden. She remained frozen, watching the trio. She had all the time in the world. She could wait for them to give her the information she needed without threatening.
