No, it's fine. You can also choose a free breed instead. And if you want multiples you can buy them.

Unfortunately the eggling is part of a project and Clarissa is too young to breed. (The baby wouldn't have turned out to good anyways.)

I'm afraid you'll either have to wait or pick something else.
And I don't usually gift the offspring of themes. It depends on the circumstances.
