Well...cry again, that would be. "You most likely won't have to shoot anyone." She took out her wallet and glanced inside it, counting her cash. For as much as was in there, she very well could've been a drug dealer.

Yeah, he didn't actually fully realize that it hadn't been real when she'd cried that first time. He sighed in relief that he most likely wouldn't have to shoot a poor person that was probably just misled.

She eyed the clothes he was wearing. "You're going to need a few things; it'll be colder where we're going. What size do you wear? Shoe size, too, so I can get you some hiking boots."

He was a bit shy about his clothes sizes, he was bigger, in multiple ways, than most guys his age. So he sorta ran a finger over his bracelet as he told her his sizes.

She nodded. "Got it. I'll be back as soon as I can." Electa paused before she got out, concern creasing through her at the thought of him out here on his own. "Look, keep down, all right? Pretend you're asleep or something."

He nodded, teal eyes watching her nervously as he sorta held the gun awkwardly. He hadn't lied, he wasn't a weapon kiddo. It didn't even look right in his hands.

She just hoped that nobody else noticed. Electa did the shopping as quickly as she could, loading a shopping cart with everything she thought they might need. At the sporting goods store, she bought them both hiking boots and thermal sleeping bags, a camp stove and canisters of gas. She didn't start to feel really out of her depth until she checked out a clothing store to get things for Vexin. She did the best she could, taking a pile of clothes to the counter.
"Shopping for your boyfriend?" asked the girl at the cash register.
"Sort of," replied Electa. The girl rang up Electa's purchases.
She was soon headed back to the truck, feeling confused by her own actions. The moment in the truck came hurtling back; she had come this close to kissing Vexin. What the heck had she been doing, anyway? She knew better.

Vex sorta was thinking over that time in the truck as well. He was curled up best as possible down in front of his seat. He held the gun very carefully. He thought over that moment and that odd feeling he'd had. It was ... new. He wasn't sure he liked it. It hadn't been normal and he didn't want to fall into anything that would make things any worse. But he was starting to feel less avoidant of Electa, she seemed sweet in her own ways and he wondered if she cared. 'Does she care? Does she actually care what happens to me or ...' He didn't want to think the rest of that thought, he didn't want to be just a tool or toy for yet another person.

She didn't want to be as close to anyone as she'd somehow already managed to get to Vexin, even just as friends. It wasn't worth it; caring about people simply meant that she would lose them.
Yet it felt as if there was no way back. She didn't want to be without him, either.
When Electa reached the truck, to her relief, Vexin was hardly even visible from the outside.

He was staring forward inside and at the back of the seat, chin resting on the sitting part of the seat. He remembered he'd had a similar feeling for his brother, but it had been a little different and quite strong. That made him close his eyes, trying not to cry as he remembered faint images of his brothers smile and heard his laugh. The boy had been a big bundle of joy, able to make any one smile and he'd had no enemies.
