"Were you and Luner talking about only the wolves last night?"

"No we weren't just talking about the wolves. Another issue came up right when I walked in involving the council. I'm not allowed to say any more about it though. Also in that book it's a list of this island's supposive 'cures' they aren't really cures just a list of what not to do."

Kaladin read over the page for an extended moment, grimmaced in disgust, skimmed over the page again to make sure he had read it right, then groaned softly. "Duely noted."

"Sorry but I had a good reason for bringing; to help prove the cures don't work and those who use them and prescribe them are false doctors."

"How could anybody think these cures are authentic?" Kaladin asked rhetorically.

Douglas looked up at the cieling, "I know that's a rhetorical question but the answer is unfortunately true that some mobians believe in them. I remember on one island they believed fox liver could be used to cure powerful aliments. People believe in magic and certain magic is thought to be in animals so some misguided mobian came up with a 'cure' using that knowelage."

Kal looked back at the book. "You're right. People are impressionable."

Douglas smiles, "That's why we have the book to teach them not everything can be used as a cure."

Kaladin nodded and got back to copying. "That said, a few of these seem to be valid. The aloe treatments, for example."

"That one is valid but only if you subsitute mint leaves for nightshade leaves.''
