She nodded with an 'Of course!' before getting that for him, holding it out for him

He carefully took it with a slightly embarrassed thank you, not even avoiding the risk of touching her. It had become okay with him. She was good in his book.

Electa shook her head as she pulled her hand back once ha had taken it, and she drained her Coke. "We're on our own." She pitched the empty can into a metal garbage can nearby; it made a ringing noise. "Look, I think that just keeping alive is probably a pretty good goal for now. How would you feel about going underground for a while? It'll give us some breathing room, so we can try to figure out what to do." She wasn't planning on literally going underground, just to hide out somewhere.

He was very polite as he drank his own drink, trying to pretend that it was totally normal to him even though it was like first seeing the glorious sun. "I-I'd be alright with that." He said, being honest. He didn't mind either literally underground or just hiding out.

"Okay," she said, nodding as she climbed into the truck. Electa put the first-aid kit back in her bag, then tapped the steering wheel, looking deep in thought. "So, with any luck, those were the only angels in the area. If we get away fast, it might take a while for the others to figure out whats happened. The place I'm thinking of is up in the mountains, so we should check out whatever Cully's got in those boxes back there, make sure we have enough food. We need to stop and grab a few things, anyway."

He nodded as he jumped into the truck on the passenger side, though still careful with his wound.

She started the truck. "Okay," she said. "'It's a hundred and six miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and were wearing sunglasses.'" It was a Blues Brothers quote.

He didn't know who or what that was but okay! He smiled anyway. "Alrighty...um...sigs are bad for the lungs. They cause cancer."

She smiled. "I know. I was quoting a song lyric. I don't smoke."

He was like phew when she said she didn't smoke. "Okay, good. I wouldn't want you to risk being addicted to poison." He smiled a bit still, he was a caring guy. He really was.
