He only growls possessively, holding Nick still as he bites at his neck in his wolfish form.

Nick let him. But then his phone rang. "I probably need to take it," he said, shoving the Lycan off. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and said, "Hello?"

He growls lowly from the floor, glaring at the phone with hatred and rage.

Nick's face grew solemn. He didn't say anything else until he said, "Bye," and hung up the phone. He went over and sat on the bed, putting his head in his hands

He watches Nick, suddenly letting out a whimper as he senses the sadness in his mate. He would shift if he had clothes to change into. He stands, his large Lycan form towering over Nick as he crawls onto the bed and lays next to his mate.

Nick's shoulders shake with silent sobs. His dad was in the hospital from kidney failure. He drank all the time, so that was probably why his kidneys were failing. The doctor had called him since his mom wasn't responsible enough. They were unplugging the machines that kept his dad alive

He crawls under the cover, shifting once he's covered. He quickly hugs his mate to him, running his hand through Nick's hair silently.

Nick was shaking from the shock. He wasn't crying, well, not yet anyway. He snuggled up to Caspian, wanting comfort

"My love, what is wrong?" He whispers softly, kissing Nick's temple.

"My...my dad is getting off life support. They're killing him," Nick said in a hoarse voice
