Kit frowned, "Who is it?" she asked, Val took a step back, "N-no, grandma Mal threw you out." her father, Nick, looked furious at the name of his mother-in-law, "What your grandmother did was a mistake, now where is your mother?!" he was yelling like he always did when angry, Kit gasped, she recognized his voice, Hedge and Pyro did as well, so the three went out the backdoor.

Red made sure they made it outside before rushing back to Val, eyes flashing dangerously.

Nick was about to hit his daughter, "Tell me you little brat!" he screamed in fury, Val backed up too fast and tripped, "Help!" she cried as she raised her arm to protect herself.

Red sprang over Val and got in between her and Nick, snarling.

Nick picked up a nearby bat, he swung the bat, "No!" she screamed, she tackled her father who dropped the bat, Val punched him multiple times until he was knocked out.

Red looked mildy dissappointed. Shoot. You beat the living daylight outta him. I wanted to do that. He said, hopping onto Nick's chest and observing his wounds. Mighty fine punches there, but I think you stole Scarlet's thunder, too. He added, gesturing to the cross-wispon. The sides were glowing, singnifiying that Scarlet was readt to attack.

Val sniffed, tears were rolling down her face, "I needed to let him know how I feel." she said.

Red shifted to his true form. "Well, I think you made that point clear.... Then again, he did provoke you.... Shoot. I'm ranting." He got off of Nick and wandered upstairs, returning with a belt, which he used to bind the fox's wrists together. "Go get your mom and uncles. Tell them what happened. If he comes to before you get back, I can one-shot him for you." He muttered. Scarlet zipped over to Val and nuzzled her reassuringly.

Val nodded, she went to find her mom and uncles, Kit saw her with bruised knuckles, "Val! What happened?" she asked hugging her daughter, Val sniffed, "Dad... was mean as always." she said hugging her mother back, Hedge and Pyro went inside to where Knuckles and Nick were, Hedge sighed, "Nick was always a jerk to Val and Kit." he said sadly.

"Yeah, well, I doubt he'll bother you for the next couple hours. He's out cold," The echidna growled, glaring at Nick and fists clenched. "How'd you fish up this jerk?" He asked, turning to glance at Kit.
