"Did you find anything over there yet?" Collin called.

"Good morning," Kaladin greeted warmly.

"Not yet," Selkie answered.

"Same here," Starlight replied.


"Good morning,'' Douglas returned the greeting.
Kai pushed her head into the room, Did you work all night?
"I couldn't sleep so I did something productive," Douglas answered.
Kai looked up at Kaladin with a knowing look.

"Please don't tell me you're planning on doing like Selkie does..." Kaladin huffed.

Collin frowned. "Alright. Let me know when you do..."

"Like Selkie does', no I don't this was a one time event," Douglas responded, "try not to worry about me."

"Mm..... if you say so..." Kaladin replied uncertianally.

"Over here!" Collin called, waving a hand.

Starlight went over to Collin, "What did you find?"
Selkie untangled himself from a bush, "Hopefully you found more then I did." Saying so he pulled a thorn out of his pelt.



Douglas shook his head, "When did the day come that apprentices questioned their teachers?"

Collin tilted his head up. "Do you both smell that?" He didn't wait for an answer as he went on. "Vanilla. And I know for a fact Circi would have some scented candles with her."

Kaladin shrugged. "My people say that questioning is important. How else would we learn?"

Starlight took a deep breath, "You're right."


"I agree with that but still you worrying about something that doesn't concern you will only harm your health," Douglas spoke, "trust me on that."

Kaladin merely nodded. "You're right on that, I suppose." He replied. Though it isn't my health I'm concerned about... He thought.

Starlight remounted Whisper, "Let's go then."



Douglas capped the ink bottle, "Thank you."
Kai kept sniffing around the room.
"I'm guessing Kai woke you up," Douglas asked.
