"I had to kill my own husband..." Carol looks away. "He was also abusive."

Kat looks at her. "Some people have more to hide than meets the eye." She walks away asking herself why she had helped make the virus in the first place.

Kegan smiles and takes her hand. "Come on."

Kara touched Carol's arm slowly. "I'm sorry." She laughed a little wiping her eyes. "Sorry. I just thought that if I had a dime every time someone said that, I could own an island."

Kristine knew what Kat meant. That was how she had felt about her husband after she found out. He abused her then went for Nathaniel. She shook her head shivering. She walked over to Rick. "So, your group's gettin' kinda big."

She pulls her hand away quickly. "Sorry. No one has ever touched me except to hurt me..." She said quietly letting her hair hide her face again. "I can follow you..."

Kegan smiles " I promise that I am not to hurt you." He walk forward

Rick looks around. "That's good means we can hold our own if we are attacked.and we can build a safe place faster. Only problem is that we can stop fighting."

She nodded even though he couldn't see. "I know, old habits die hard I guess..." She muttered as she started running her fingers threw her waist length hair to brush it slightly.

Kristine nodded. "They'll get over it soon. Happens when ya're forced to be 'round people enough." She smiled and crossed her arms over her waist. "So, tell me 'bout yourself. I don't follow those I don't know very well."

Rick smiles. "Well I came from outside of Atlanta I was a cop for a small town." He laughs. "I lived a small town life, with my wife and son."

Kegan laughs. "Come on then, these people are nice."

Kristine nodded smiling. "Well, my turn I guess. I was a Dallas girl all the way through highschool. Me and some friends left on a trip cross country. Met 'the love of my life'" She said adding air quotes to the last part. "Got married and lived in the city. Your turn."

"My wife was my high school sweet heart. We got married young and waited to have a child. I was at work when he ws born, and missed his birth." He sighs. "She's dead now though."

Kristine's eyes fill with compassion. "I'm sorry ta hear that." She thought for a bit. "John, My husband, seemed to love me a lot until after he found out that Annie." Her voice cracked a little on her name. She cleared her throat. "was on the way. Then I found out about the drugs he was sellin'. He started hittin' me and Nathaniel. I left after I was sure he couldn't try and take my kids away..." She sighed looking up at the stars.

She caught up and walked next to him so that the people couldn't see her right away when she left the trees. "I'm worried Kegan... What if they don't let me join?" She said in a whisper.

"We had a nice little family that was always going to some party."he laughs again." I was in a coma when the ****** hit the fan. I got shot in the job...."

Kegan smiles. "I think they will like to have us around."

Kristine laughed a little. "After I left thin's were tough but with Nathaniel's help I got them both through school. We were on a vacation for Annie's... last worry free summer when a few park rangers thought we looked tasty" She paused a little after saying Annie. She felt like it was her fault or something.

She shakes her head. "But what if they don't want me?"
