After a few hours of talking, Makoto had left the Saiki residence feeling lighter than he had in years. Upon getting home, he merely greeted Kokomi and went to his room. Days passed, eventually weeks, and he continued visiting despite the fact that his feelings had already begun fading. Soon, everything he liked about Kokomi was replaced with everything he liked about Kusuo. Her laugh? Nothing compared to the one time he managed to get a chuckle out of the withdrawn boy, a breathy, high pitched sound. Her hair? A drop in the bucket against Kusuo's soft curls. He had gotten to run his hands through them a few times, always amazed at the soft texture as they practically bounced, full of volume. Her eyes? Beautiful lapis blue, but they paled when he thought of Kusuo's deep violet eyes, always hidden behind the green shades he wore. They had flecks of fuchsia and deep purple sprinkled through, as well as an outer ring of magenta.

Kusuo sighed, laying in bed. He had always considered himself asexual and aromantic, but perhaps he wasn't as grey on the last one as he thought. He could of course read Makato's mind and see everything he thought about him, and the pure genuine adoration pouring from him took a while to get used to, but was a welcome change. He sighed, waiting for the man to show up yet again. They had an unspoken schedule, and he wouldn't admit it but he counted down the seconds to their next meeting.

Makoto hesitated, staring at the window display. On one hand, Kusuo. On the other hand . . . He walked inside, not taking more than 5 minutes before continuing on his way. He entered without knocking, having gotten used to coming here after class more often than not.

Kusuo glanced up from his book as Makoto entered, blinking. 'What is that?'

He collapsed dramatically in the chair, holding out the bag like it was something vile. "I caved. I saw it in a display window and just couldn't stop myself from buying it for Kokomi!" He wailed. 'Who am I kidding? My feelings for Kokomi have practically evaporated, aside from loving her as my sister. I bought it for you.'

Kusuo pretended not to read his mind with mild difficulty, instead taking the bag and opening it. His eyes widened at the large coffee cake inside. Topped with coffee jelly and whipped cream, it was a sight to behold. He paused. 'Kokomi's favorite flavor is vanilla, not coffee. Coffee's my favorite flavor.'

Makoto looked away, resolutely not looking at Kusuo. 'Of course he figured it out he's so smart, so hot too what was I thinking what can I say-'

He smiled slightly. Of course he got stuck with this tsundere wanna-be. 'Thank you, Makoto.'

He jerked back, eyes wide. Did he . . .? "N-no problem . . . Kusuo."
