Felinus's keen ears had detected the location of the sound. However he was unwilling to expose himself at present. He would wait until the pair had gone before investigating further. then he really needed to get back to his case. However some information about the odd robots might be a help for future situations. After all it was important to understand all he could of his new home.

Rune tossed the ball up and down
Then missed it
It hit the ground with a hard metal thud
She picks it back up and drops it aging
She repeats this
bang, bang, bang

(Ping)

Knuckles let out a small sigh as Sonic kicked idly at the werckage. "So, uh, I think I'm gonna run to Tails' place and grab a quick snack. Worked up a bit of an appitite, y'know. Where do you wanna meet afterwards? Or do you just wanna wait here; It'll only take me like five minutes."

The guardian echidna shook his head. "I think I need to keep looking. Every moment I spend doing nothing is another moment the Master Emerald is still unguarded."

Sonic shrugged. "Eh. Alright. Have it your way Knux."
"It's Knuckles, Sonic." Knuckles huffed.
"Okay, okay," Sonic defended. "Well. Laters." With that, the two parted ways.

When the pair had left Felinus shifted out of his super form. He approached the wreckage cautiously Picking up a stick he used it to turn over several pieces and examined them. Several had a marking on them. Some sort of creature with what appeared to have large tufts of hair under it supposed nose and glasses. Curiously he took note of it memorizing it for later. After nosing around for about fifteen minutes he finished investigating. With a sigh he stood up and dusted off his paws. Recalling the details of the case he headed for the next destination to re-find his target. He paced along deep in thought over the latest events. Unaware that back at the scene he had left a faint scent of a Neko, so faint only a Cainar nose could have detected it.

Sonic slid to a halt in front of Tails' house and casually let himself in. After briefly looking around, he shut the door behind him and made his way to the kitchen. He helped himself to a couple off-brand granola bars, tapping his foot on the floor in a smiple rythem just to occupy his mind. The noise echoed on the tiles, and Sonic tilted an ear. I forget how quiet the place is when Tails isn't here, He idly pondered. There's usually at least a little clatter... heh. He shrugged to himself and made his way out.

And was heading to work quickly
She came in and resumed the day

Felinus finally managed to relocate his target. Nothing much had happened in the time he was gone. Well For the target that is. What followed was a long day of little to report. It made him wonder what any female would see in such a boring boorish personality as that. Still he had a case to do so he stuck it out. The guy eventually had dinner with a number of friends. While he did not notice anything too suspicious for his clients attention, he did notice that she appeared to not be invited. Filing the detail away for later he decided to return to his apartment for the night. He mulled things over as he walked. The case, the other neko he had sensed, and of course the disturbance earlier today. He wished there was someone he could ask questions of. Unfortunately the villains here might be so well known that asking about them would raise too many questions about himself. He was not sure how the natives would react to his true species and origins. Best to just keep his ears open he decided at last, and keep his eyes out for any more examples of that symbol.

(Sorry for the haitus, My sister in law sent her sick kids over here while she went to the gym to work out and guess who else got sick, my kid. I wish she would stop doing that. Anywho now that my little one is on the mend I have a little more free time on my hands.)

That night, Sonic and Knuckles once again started their treck back to Tails' place.
"Well... I dunno, hedgehog." Knuckles huffed, his expression one of frusteration and dissappointment. "There's nothing here. I'll give it one more day, but then I think I'll move onto South Island."
Sonic shrugged in reply. "Sorry. The best thing I could do at this rate is tag along, but Tails has the Tornado, and you know how my realtionship with the sea is..." The hedgehog remarked with a grimmace.
"Yeah. No need to remind me." Knuckles grumbled.

Luna had gotten off work and was now back home
She used the fir escape to get to the roof
Then she went from roof top to roof top, exploring the city
