Being a fan of Pokemon, I have played quite a few of the games (HG/SS, B/W, B2/W2) and collected a lot of cards. Now, I know there are many other Pokemon fans out there playing Sylestia, so I was wondering, what shinies have you caught? I know they are incredibly rare, with a 1 in 8192 chance of finding them in the wild. Aside from the Shiny Gyarados in the Lake of Rage in HG/SS, I have only caught 2 shinies. Ever. They are a shiny Magikarp, and a shiny Tentacool. I caught them fairly early on in the game - the Tentacool before I had finished it, and I think the Magikarp shortly after I had completed the game (though I'm not entirely sure) as I was surfing over to that Den where there are all the Dratini's and the Dragon Master challenges you. And, on the other games, I have not yet caught any... But fingers crossed I'll catch some soon!

So, how many shinies, if any, have you caught? Or did they get away? Feel free to discuss your shiny mishaps, or your plans for shiny hunting!

In my platinum game I captured a shiny Chatot. I almost killed it though cause I didn't realize it was shiny cause I missed the sparkle at the beginning of the battle. Only reason I caught it is because I didn't have one yet. Didn't realize until the first pokeball failed that it was a shiny.

In my Platinum game, I was just walking along, thinking that I'd head down to the area around Twinleaf to start training a newly-hatched eevee.
....A Shiny Bidof showed up, Fainted little Ribbion(Eevee), and....Well, I hate Bidof. I HATE them. With, like, a burning passion. And it FAINTED my little eevee! So I sent out Twig the level 100 Torttera to CRUSH it. ^^"
....Maybe I over-reacted a little bit there....

Okay, luck of DOOM here, when I get high level enough,
I ALWAYS use Max Repels in ever cavern I pass in, since
I'm mostly there to find Items I forgot to pick or felt like
walking instead of using Fly.

That one time... I forgot to use one of them, I was just
travelling through that mountain in the middle of the map
(Pearl Version), forgot name ATM, I didn't encountered a
single Pokemon until I saw the "exit", then I run into a
Wild Pokemon.
-Oh great, forgot Rep- *almost choke myself* Is that?!
There it is! A Shiny Geodude, I couldn't miss it at all, that
Golden Geodude~ <3
I caught him with my Master Ball(yes that was "stupid" but
I had HeartGold if I wanted more Master Ball, just a bit of
patience and I was getting myself another one~ XP)
I called the thing : Gold King
very un-original, but he was Male and Golden(oh that Gold
soooo marked me~ o.o)
Been the first Shiny(not counting the free Red/Shiny
Gyarados you can get in a previous gen~ XP) I ever saw and
caught!~ <333

And that's the little story of my first Shiny that just changed
my whoooole opinion toward the coolness of Shinies~ owo

My first was a shiny tentacool that I actually tried to chain before chaining even existed, back in gen 3. It worked, though. <3

The first shiny I ever saw was when I was SRing for a female torchic in my ruby version, though. You know that first poochyena you have to beat to save the professor? The one you don't have any pokeballs or anything for? Well, guess what was shiny... >.<

I didn't find any other shinies until recently, though. I was SRing for a shiny Reshiram on my white... when I ran into a green sandshrew on my Sacred Gold Rom. I had to do a double-take because I missed the sparkly entry. Needless to say, I stopped obsessing over Reshiram after that. *snugs Fritter, her red-spiked shiny sandslash* Ironically, I had been playing SG as a nuzlocke run with a no-catch rule.

Nothing wrong with using a masterball on a shiny. Legendaries are a lot more common than they are, after all. I used my first ever masterball on a horsea when I was a kid. XD

I have naturally caught a shiny Marril and then a shiny Floatzel. Plus the shiny Gible in B2. I have: 3 legit shiny Raikous (the event ones), two shiny Enteis (onje event one caught), Nidoking, Lucario. Ones that I hatched through RNG manipulation that have since left my posession are Rotom, Lickilicky, and Beldum.

I ran into a shiny Moltres in SS the other day, my Pidgeot accidentally crit it. ;___;

I think I never used mine on my first plays of Blue,
until I understand what it was~ XD
I was like, this look cool, I'm keeping that Ball~
And just threw Ultras everywhere~ XD

Then I returned to try to find another at the same
spot as the first one~ XD

I have two naturally caught shinies other than the red gyrados. Both were Ponyta, different games different places, just randomly encountered without chaining. Then I learned about the random number generators, and learned how to breed them in Diamond

o.o lucky! i really want a shiny pokemon...my first shiny was an...abra... T-T...
