Off the Coast of a small town theres a deep trench, and in the depths of those waters live creatures feared by humans for centuries. Hundreds of sea monsters have swelled there for decades upon decades, and sightings of them in the waters have frightened nearly all humans away from that area.

The human village has always been very hostile towards sea monsters, offering high cash rewards for any of them caught and killed. Although its been a lifetime since one was last spotted, the townsfolk still hold their hostility.

Bio: her older sister used to secretly take her to the surface away from the human town when she was younger. After their parents discovered they had been sneaking to the surface her sister was banished from the village and hasnt been seen my Angie since.
Appearance: (picture tba) 63 and sea monster form is a bright cyan/teal color with indigo fins. Her hair fins are shorter on the left and considerably longer on the right side of her head. Her human form has brownish hair that mimics the length of her fins and bright blue eyes

Bio: Val is a wanderer, she visits seaside towns all over the world to try all the various foods and cultures. By wandering throughout the seas she has learned multiple languages at this point. She found the trench and settled in deciding to take a break from all the wandering, and possible make some friends.

Appearance:

Human Form: Brown curly hair that is a bit longer than shoulder-length (normally in a ponytail), honey brown eyes, tan skin littered with various scars (most small scars), lots of freckles (freckles are dots in sea monster form)

Seamonster Form: Main color is a deep purple color littered with white dots that glow in the dark (dots are freckles in human form), fin hair is a light purple lilac color (same as the other fins), eyes are a toxic green that glow as an intimidation factor (eyes are this color only in sea monster form to ward off danger), strong sharp teeth to eat snails and various other fish (favorite fish are eels)

Other Notes: She once called a man a catfish and had to explain, after explaining why he nearly said something much worse but was dragged off by his wife by the ear. Val has a tendency to wander deep in the water to not only avoid humans but also because she often finds the tastiest eels down there that are attracted to her glowing dots
