Hey guys! I'm an art student from Tennessee. I've drawn since I was a kid and I wanted to share some of my work here. I hope you like it.
It probably goes without saying, but please don't steal or repost my art. Please credit me if you decide to draw one of my characters.
Edit to add: Feel free to critique or comment on my art. I welcome all constructive criticism!

Your art is absolutely gorgeous, I love how you draw wings - they're so complicated and hard to draw :0

Do you take commissions?

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like my art! ^.^ Unfortunately I don't have commissions open at the moment because I'm getting ready for the fall semester to start, but I do plan to open commissions at the beginning of December.

Do you have any tips on drawing hands? I've been drawing for a while but I still can't draw hands well.
Also, your art is so beautiful!

Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear that you like it ^.^

I can put together a tutorial this weekend if you'd like. In the meantime though, one of the biggest tips I can offer is to use a ton of references. A lot of the hands in my pieces were modeled by me or my parents lol. Another thing that really helps me when I'm having trouble with them is to break them down into simpler shapes- a rectangular shape for the hand itself and then smaller rectangles from joint to joint on each of the fingers helps to make sure everything is proportionate before you fill out details.

Also, I'm not sure if you draw digitally or traditionally, but I can offer up a few little tricks to help with either/or.

With digital, I recommend lots of layers- especially for hands because you can shape and manipulate that part without touching the rest of your piece to help you get proportions right. It's what I do with almost every drawing.

With traditional pieces, I recommend starting with super super light pencil lines (H pencils are really good for that because the harder the lead, the lighter the line but you don't have to use those. A soft touch with a mechanical pencil works just as well imo).

Also, there's a site (line-of-action) that you can check out for practice with hands. It's what I use for warming up sometimes. It might help as well. It has a "class mode" where it starts you out with quick (like 30 second) sketches and gradually increases the time but there's also a mode where you can set the time and really study what you're practicing. It has sections where you can practice all kinds of things- figure drawing, facial expressions, hands and feet, etc.

I really hope this helps and I'm really sorry it took me a bit to get back to you! ^^ Happy arting and don't give up.

Thank you so much! I draw both traditionally and digitally so most of this advice is very helpful, for me references just make it more difficult, but other than that this is very helpful!

I'm really glad some of it might help! I meant to do a new tutorial for hands, but schoolwork got the better of me. I am really sorry about that, but I did find an older tutorial that might help too. Hopefully I'll have some free time soon to update the tutorial soon but in the meantime I hope it helps as well. ^.^
