This might be just me, but is anyone else overly conscious about random things that you maybe shouldn't be?
For me it is my hands. I have anxiety and I'm really conscious about them. I often wear oversized hoodies so I can put them in my sleeves. I think it's because when I get nervous about something, I bite my nails or scratch my hands up really bad. I scar so easily even minor scratches are still there a year or two later. So I get anxious, I scratch up my hands, then I get anxious over my hands because they are scratched up? It's so odd to me that my hands/nails often trigger me. I will touch something the wrong way and then that nail against the chalkboard feeling plays over an over in my head.
Anyone else have anything like this?

I have the same problem! except with my arms, I cannot tell you how many times I nearly had a heat stroke because I was trying to cover my arms with my jacket, sometimes I get overly conscious of my hands or even just the way I'm walking or sitting and then it just kinda takes up my whole day.

Yeah, I feel that. Anxiety and overthinking is awful. Sometimes I'll be walking down the hallway at school , and I'll start to think I'm walking funny, then try to not walk funny. I end up not being able to walk in a straight line.
Just- w h y ?

Honestly, sometimes I'll just stop walking entirely, even during passing time when I need to get to class I'll start being too self-aware and just freeze. I'll be starting high school next year, and it's an even larger school than the one I currently attend so just imagine how often I'll be late when this happens there.

Oh boy, yeah, highschool isn't great (I would know, as I am a freshman). The people in my school tend to be really judgmental, so I'm constantly nervous at school. Sometimes when walking I get nervous and then forget how to walk. I almost fall constantly. On the bright side, I have a really good friend who takes care of me. He always notices if I get even the slightest bit fidgety, and can often guess what I'm panicking over. I'm really attached to that friend (and the rest of my friends in general). They are like a lifeline for me and if I'm around people I don't know I freak out >.>

[I saw on your profile that you have an astral walker trinket-thing on your dream avi, I have one if you don't already have it :)]
ah, all the friends I had are either moving this year or go to a different school already. I do have another friend I made this year but that was pretty darn recently. Say, do you have any advice for high school? Or anything that's significantly different from middle school?

(Nah, I got one. Thanks for the offer though!)
Advice... uhh idk I'm not doing too well here, myself. I do know a few things though :D
- Never fall behind. Don't procrastinate, or you will never catch up again. Trust me, once you start failing there is no safety net. Failing a project or a test can just d e s t r o y your grades.
- Make sure you have a friend/friend group who isn't toxic, and will help you. Highschool sucks alone.
- Take electives that you will enjoy. It will make those classes so much easier. Electives are like a metal break for me, they help me calm down.
- Maybe don't take AP classes unless you can handle it. If you struggle in a regular math class, for example, don't take an AP math class. They move much faster and are like college level classes.
- Science is complicated be prepared.
- Try not to make a bad impression on the teachers lol
That's pretty much it.

I am the king of procrastination, I procrastinated so hard this year.
I think I signed up for the electives I like, but there's a couple I kinda just.. saw. And now I have them. And Its past time to fix it.

I put in my course request a couple days ago. My school offers quite a few electives (computer programming lets gooo-) I am also procrastination royalty. I have so many things to do I have no idea how I am passing o-o

All of this, plus:
- If you struggle (even a little) in the first of something when concerning AP (such as Pre-AP Algebra), don't take pre-AP/AP whatever the thing is 2. That was my mistake because I struggled a little in Pre-AP Chem 1 and AP Chem 2 increased my anxiety by sooo much.
- Make sure you have more than one friend, not necessarily per class but just in general so you're not alone in your classes. I'm in AP, so a good chunk of my friends are in every class. (Of course, there's exceptions, like if you're the only one in the class (which shouldn't happen unless you're like me and start taking higher level class of something other than Spanish once you're done with the lower levels. That's a fun story.) or it's a small class, but still try.
As for "overly focused on dumb things," grades. Even if it was put in as missing so a teacher doesn't forget it, I panic. Grades, and I guess me not wearing a hoodie, I guess.
I need to wear hoodies or else I feel uncomfortable and feeling that every single minute sucks.
