Many kingdoms have started persecuting their witches, warlocks, and prophets. The penalty is imprisonment - and depending on the kingdom, death. It's getting harder and harder to tell which kingdoms are safe anymore, with tensions so high. But if you can manage to escape your own kingdom to a safer one, you have a fighting chance. In fact, some kingdoms are so welcoming to your kind, the palaces are offering them staff positions. Do you escape to a safer kingdom, and even become part of the royal consort, or do you perish at the flaming edges of your birthplace?

Del'ti Tnu
Closely allied with Rewolf, Eru Tangis, Noitara Pes, and Telma'h
The safest and most welcoming kingdom for refugees. The king is kind and knows his people well, though is protective of his only daughter. It is mainly farming communities here, and they have the biggest food export to the rest of the kingdoms. The kingdom is currently planning a ball for any available suitor to court the princess - the king is hiding an illness from public eye and is soon expected to pass.

Rewolf
Closely allied with Del'ti Tnu and Telma'h. The second safest kingdom - it's difficult to get in, but secure. They have the best military of all the kingdoms, other than Tsina Tas. The king is long time best friends with Del'ti Tnu's king. The prince is expected heavily to take over the throne, and the princess, while very prim and proper, is not viewed by the public as queen material.

Noitara Pes
Closely allied with Del'ti Tnu, Teloiv, and Telma'h. Many refugees come here, but many do not end up staying. Noitara Pes is more of a pass-through. The kingdom is relatively poor, but the people are accepting and harbor refugees while they struggle to get back on their feet. The princess is a beloved ambassador of the kingdom, and is amongst her people on the daily to hand out food and money as available. The king and queen support her in her endeavors, but are not as concerned or involved. Del'ti Tnu is far away, so food imports take a very long time to arrive.

Eru Tangis
Closely allied with Del'ti Tnu, Teloiv, and St'Nemunom. The kingdom has job opportunities galore, but many businesses are private and hire at the owner's discretion. There are refugee businesses, but they are not immune to ridicule or destruction from an upset party. The king has a vast palace with many gardens, though it is empty, with only a few servants, and a family nurse who watches over the king.

Closely allied with Noitara Pes, Eru Tangis, and St'Nemunom. Though not as poor as Noitara Pes, the kingdom is still humble. The Queen holds bias against the refugees, and refuses to enforce any protective laws, but the prince is known to actively argue on their behalf. Usually the worse off refugees end up here, and are helped by secret underground passages to get up to Noitara Pes and onward, while others are captured and imprisoned. There is a rumor that the prince is engaged to the princess of Noitara Pes, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Telma'h
Closely allied with Del'ti Tnu, Rewolf, Noitara Pes, St'Nemunom, and Tsina Tas. Known for their beautiful orchards and gardens. They are also considered the capital of all knowledge, with many scientists, astronomers, philosophers, doctors, and scholars residing here. There is a bit of a mystery as to why the princess, a beautiful and intelligent, as well as talented noble, is not yet married. The kingdom does not explicitly target refugees, but does not do much to help the situation either.

St'Nemunom
Closely allied with Eru Tangis, Teloiv, Telma'h, and Tsina Tas. This is a very religious state. Refugees will be sentenced to death if they are caught - it is said the persecution started here and spread to further kingdoms. The queen is bitter and violent against those opposed to her rule and refuses to give up the throne as the oldest monarch in all of the kingdoms. There is no real need for a military - troops from Tsina Tas are stationed throughout and carry out her orders, but only secondly to their own kingdom.

Tsina Tas
Closely allied with Telma'h and St'Nemunom. While grandiose and glimmering on the outside, the worst criminals of all live unregulated. Gangs run rampant while the royal family lives unbothered. This is one of the largest kingdoms, so it is nearly impossible to rule completely. They have a drafted military, and it is second largest to Rewolf. They have been sending troops to St'Nemunom to "protect" the queen and push an underlying agenda. The royal family doesn't give whip about the welfare of their people, and is only interested in power and possession. They have recently cut ties with Del'ti Tnu and Rewolf.

Personality: Princess Ophelia's dearest childhood friend. Her kingdom was especially close to Ophelia's mother before her passing, so the two have been long-time companions. Although now keeping touch through letters, Margeaux has done a lot of growing up from the sassy little girl she was. She's been taught many lessons on the hardship outside the castle walls and will stop and nothing to ease the suffering of her kingdom. She takes lessons from the knights in secret, training herself to be strong and capable for her people. She's very mature and diplomatic, as well as generous. Often she wanders the streets in her poorest clothes, handing out food and coin when she can, especially between food shipments from Del'ti Tnu.

Personality: She's snappish and sassy. Often very rude. She's intelligent and knows what she's doing, and won't take crap from anyone who tells her otherwise - even the king. She's been a trusted caretaker for a very long time, and is still looked up to. While the king may be the head of state, he fools no one - Sylvia's word is above the king's and everyone in the palace knows it. She's careful when she needs to be, and easily amused by the emotional anguish of young royals, often dismissing them with a click of her tongue. She specialized in the most modern medicine of their age, but has very little experience with any type of healing magic.

Personality: She's more reserved in their approach to other people, given her life in St'Nemunom, and doesn't speak much. They prefer to be closest to nature, where she feels the safest, and they're often willing to go out of her way to help a friend and other refugees. They're extremely loyal and knowledgeable, and she has always dreamed of seeing the orchards and white lily fields of Telma'h one day.

Magical weaknesses: larger wounds or worse injuries take longer for her to heal, they can't grow seeds without the proper elements, they can't be "in touch" with a stone unless it has been tuned to her energy first

Appearance: Saiph is tall, lanky and studious, with black hair that reaches his upper back and (often startled) hazel eyes that appear flecked with gold under the right lighting. He wears small, round spectacles to help with his poor vision, which is still a bit iffy at best (due to the limitations of this world's technology). His features are long and narrow, and he's a little too thin from compromised nutrition. When his magic kicks in, (often at unfortunate moments), his eyes flash bright gold and he gains a faint aura of the same color.
Personality: Saiph is nervous, flighty, and curious about everything and everything. The son of a lesser-known astronomer, he always helped his father out and never really understood why the aforementioned parental figure was so protective of him. Saiph used to be bold and next to fearless, but he has become reserved and quiet in years past, not wanting to hurt anyone else. He's an extreme problem solver and will absolutely wear himself out trying to help those he cares about.
Magic type/powers: Saiph's powers take control of him unpredictably. He has been recorded to be able to form barriers and walls out of golden light.... oh, and once he vaporized a person by grabbing their wrist and sending light up their arm. Whoops. Saiph is terrified of his abilities, and if he could choose not to use them, he could. When Saiph is in danger or agitated, it's likely said powers will manifest.
Magical weaknesses: His powers completely override his personality and conscience, and he really can't control when they decide to kick in. He has been shown to completely overreact in a stressful situation and accidentally trigger said powers. It gets pretty unsettling, as he acts entirely different when using his magic.
Backstory: White lily! Saiph was born to a working-class family in Telma'h. His mother, also an astronomer, died when he was very young trying to give birth to a second child, leaving his father devastated. To add to the stress, Saiph once revealed his warlock status to his father at age 4, thankfully in private when he tripped and nearly fell down the stairs. Saiph's father kept this a secret for a long time, hoping it was just an accident or a fluke, but inwardly he knew it was only a matter of time as the incidents began to pile up. Saiph had a relatively normal childhood, helping his father with his studies of astronomy. When he discovered his status as a warlock (via an ill-fated incident when he was 16 involving a band magic-haters who suspected Saiph.... and the death of his father) he was terrified, suddenly understanding his true destructive potential. He fled the kingdom after this incident but soon realized how unprepared he was to face the world.

Veida is around 5' 4 and is slender. She's been known for her immaculate hairstyles, usually with white lilies involved, paired with rather simple clothing. (What her clothes look like)


Personality:
Veida is rather reclusive and seems cold and calculating, rarely leaving her chambers. She's so "invested" in her work that she will forget to eat for days on end- claiming that her studies are more important than food. Though, if food is brought to her, she won't refuse it and will eat it while she works.
She of course is hesitant to speak up to St'Nemunom about the refugees and try and change things, weary of the kingdom's powerful ally. She wants to help the poor souls left on the run from such tyrants, but, from a technical standpoint that would simply be unwise especially with the lack of a military to assist her people.
When one gets to know Veida, it's easy to tell that her cold personality is only a front and that she's only tired and trying to become one of the top scientists in her kingdom. She really is kind and loves to garden, but she put pressure on herself to be great and useful, so she barely visits the outside world unless necessary; especially with how ugly it has turned.

Backstory:
When Veida was young all she did was spend time in the courtyard's elaborate gardens, picking up on the love for plant and bug life. Until the age of fifteen when she learned how the world worked truly, she spent almost every day in those maze-like gardens, rain or shine. Turns out she has quite the green thumb and even helped the palace gardeners occasionally.
Now, at the age of fifteen, during one of the visits from the queen of St'Nemunom, she figured out how bitter everything was outside of her gorgeous kingdom after overhearing a conversation between her father and the St'Nemunom Queen. After that day, she decided to turn to her studies so she could perhaps help her kingdom become self-sufficient.
