new here and for the life of me i can not figure out how to use an item when it tells me to use this item on a pet via its profile page. i have looked everywhere and there is nothing i can find when i go to stables, then click a pet to like see its stats. can someone pls guide me?

the pet profile is literally just their info page. Like this is the profile page of one of your pets.
On every pet's profile page, there's a segment under their name/ owner/ age/ etc that's a bunch buttons.
To use a philter on a pet you own, you click the green "Genetic philter" button to get a popup and select the one you want to use in the dropdown it provides
