Here's hoping no one has suggested this before, but here I go.


I think it would be nice if there was a way for someone to reset their game. I know I have had times where I got bored and really wished I could restart my game, redesign my starter (maybe even pick a different species) and try again with a fresh slate.

I feel like when a player decides they want to reset their account they will have to accept to three times in order to confirm it in order to prevent accidental acceptance. The first time it would say a generic "are you sure you want to reset your account," the second time it could say, "resetting your account will release all your sylesti, do you wish to continue," and I feel like the final message would say, "all your money will be reset back to starting value, and your account wont be recoverable, are you sure you wish to continue."

In order to encourage some people to try out this feature I feel like there should be some sort of a reward box that the player gets the first time they restart their account. The reward would be fitting for the level they restarted their account at (i.e. a level 70 player would get higher level prizes such as things like a free second stable or diamonds and gold then a level 10 player).

I feel like another good feature for this would not allow someone to restart their game for at least 100 days after joining or after restarting.

So far this is the only online game site I use that has no ability to allow players to restart their game. Sometimes a restart is just what someone needs and would allow players the ability to have fun with the early story line.

Please let me know what you think about this idea. All feedback is good feedback.

There's really no reason for anyone to reset their account? At most, when Sylestia's revamp is finished and we're ALL starting back on the revamped storyline at level 0 again I could understand allowing all players a chance to redo their starter pets within reason. (Only the beginner species/no restricted traits, etc.) If I recall correctly, Krin also mentioned years back a possible philter that would allow one to redo their Starter Sylesti. (I would encourage this being limited though.)

Pets can be released if you don't want them. Resetting an account (meaning the account no longer exists) also means those released pets will no longer exist. Released pets stick to the account that they were released from and are still available to be brought back - without the account to anchor them, those pets would be gone forever.

Offering a reward to encourage players to restart their account is ludicrous as it goes against the point of restarting an account in the first place.

Could you explain what you mean by your first paragraph? Does this mean we'll lose all pets, items, etc or will only the levels/story progress be wiped? or is that something only krin knows xD

Also, no support. The only reason I could think of for someone restarting their game is a new starter. If you want to build from the ground up I'd recommend blowing all your gold or something, releasing all pets, etc - which also invalidates the reward system. There's also a potential for abuse of this system - someone could get a user's password and wipe their account. unfortunately, it does happen on sites that do have this mechanic. (Howrse, for example.)

From what I understand, when Sylestia is out of beta the plan is to restart the story line for all players. All pets will go to level 0 (this was semi-tested with LG - you know how LG tamed pets start at level 0 after capture?) - players will be compensated for all levels lost (somehow? maybe? this was vague) but all pets and items should remain. Pretty much the story and levels would reset - we get to experience everything the revamped version has when all of the zones share just a single system. This was announced a LONG time ago though and I don't know if this plan has been changed.

The website Hiraeth just mentioned is notorious for account deletion/restarts. All the creatures from that account - wiped and gone- bloodlines broken everywhere. The pets themselves are fully deleted and no longer in the game. :(

I left howrse a while ago lol. the disconnect from dev and players is massive xD but i guess that's what you get when said devs are corporate?
I'm looking forward to non-beta sylestia! I know there's gonna be an awesome storyline hehe. gonna be tough to build pets from the bottom up, though xP Thanks for clarifying that.
