"welcome to cedar ridge; the most prestigious school that hosts both highschoolers and college students! we are so happy to have you here this year, and I'm sure you're happy to be here too" the counselor says, cheerfully. "now, before we begin moving into dorms, i would like to introduce you to our headmaster, Mrs. Brawner." the councilor says, stepping aside to allow a young woman with long brown hair to step up.

" my name is Lindsey Brawner, but you can call me Mrs. b or just Lindsey, and i am the head master of this lovely school. first, i would like to start off saying that i am so glad you chose to come to this school, i know there are many other schools you could have chosen from. secondly i would like to say that we as a faculty value our students safety, and therefore, in light of recent events, i would like you to know that we do not tolerate fights in this school. I'm not singling anyone out, but please, we are all adults here, lets remain civil"

there's murmuring among the group of students in front of the two women, and sensing a bit of unease, the councilor steps forward again. "well wasn't that just a wonderful speech!" she claps her hands together cheerfully. "now, lets get everyone settled into their dorms before lunch, then we will serve everyone food and you can talk to either me or the lunch ladies about any special dietary needs you may have"

she guides the group along to a large group of buildings, each one ten stories tall. "these are the dorms, there is a parking garage to the left of each one, that's where the tunnels go. you do not have reserved parking, but if you are handicapped or need reserved parking for some other reason, feel free to talk to me about it." she says, gesturing towards the entrance to the parking garage. "the dorms are not separated by gender. we trust your ability to make good decisions, and we know that in the worlds you come from that separation like that didn't happen often. again, talk to me if you would like to change roommates." she finishes.

"alright! i'll leave you to unpack and i will meet you in the cafeteria when you're done. you can find the cafeteria on your maps, or you can ask one of the older students to help you" she concludes, clapping her hands together and giving everyone a bright smile. she turns, and walks away to one of the many offices presumable to file some paper work pertaining all the students the school just accepted.

Jordyn Standish
Jordyn bounces in place, a normal thing to find coming from him. His bright green eyes scan the surrounding crowd as the headmaster speaks, his keen ears picking up and processing every word from behind a light layer of his dusty brown hair. "I see, I see." Jordyn mutters, his focus snapping back to the front after the no fighting or gender separation rules are noted and they are dismissed. He would have followed the rules talked about anyways. Lady Ramen Noodle is curled around his wrist and he has to keep rolling his hand to keep the snake on him and not on the floor, where she might get squashed.

Felix Jade
Felix pays strict attention to the one speaking in the front, the headmaster, and ignores the bouncing and quietly talking witch beside him. He glances once towards the bright eyed fellow beside him when the no violence rule is noted, already feeling like this one will be hard to follow. He huffs in annoyance at the witch's childish behavior and hopes he doesn't have to stick around him any longer than they have to. As soon as the group is dismissed, Felix breaks for the dorms, not wanting to be around people in fear he'd lash out at them for being loud and obnoxious. He accidentally bumps past Beau on his way and he pauses long enough to make sure he hadn't hurt Beau and apologize, his blue eyes already turned to the direction he wanted to go to.

Lex Bean
Lex is keeping a listening ear out even though she flies, the wind whistling past her ears. She lands while the headmaster is talking so she can pay more attention and let Noeul know what is said after, already knowing he won't be paying attention. She has to get his attention at the end to bring him to the real world beneath his thoughts in the clouds. She offers him a granola bar when his stomach growls, already knowing what he'd say and what he's feeling. Being a twin had its perks.

Noeul Bean
Noeul hovers above the crowd, his wings working to keep him in the air next to his sister. He notices when she glides down to rest on a tree, but he stayed in the air, his broad wings open to catch the air drafts and keep himself afloat. His golden eyes glance over the crowd before he notices his sister beckoning for him to follow her to the dorms. Somehow, he must have missed something. His stomach grumbles as he lands next to her, apologizing to the people he hit with his big wings when he folds them up. "We are eating soon?" He asks her.
"Of course. Have a granola bar." Lex gives him a bar as they walk to unpack then head to the cafeteria to eat.

Shane Silence
Shane stayed to the shadows, looking on enviously at those that could be in the warmth of the sun. His amber eyes roam through the crowd of people as he sits beneath the tree whose branches were heavy with leaves and fruit. He's hardly paying attention to the words spoken, but the things said through others posture and hidden gestures that some may not notice. He gets to his feet and heads to his dorm, making sure to stay out of the sun, despite his deep want to be out in the sun and experience life once more free of the fear of what would happen if he stepped into it.

when i head to the cafeteria, it's packed, and the only empty seat is my usual table, meaning i'll have to sit by the new students. it's not a problem, per sey, but it might be inconvenient when i'm trying to read tomorrow. who knows, maybe they'll find somewhere else to sit.

getting in line i grab a tray, selecting a bacon cheese burger, bacon cheese fries, a crisp red apple and a sparkling fruit water before swiping my ID and returning to my seat just as the councilor begins to speak.

"as you can see, we have two lines; the cafeteria and the bistro. the cafeteria food is free, you just swipe your ID so we know you're here and accounted for. the bistro, however, is not free. but it does sell things like coffee and muffins, and their specialty; ham pretzel paninis. trust me, it's worth it" she laughs. she blushes when nobody else laughs, before moving on. "other than that, feel free to sit where ever you like, whether it be here or in the courtyard. I'd suggest here, though, as the court yard is where familiars go when their owners are in class and they will try to eat your food for you" she finishes, before walking off again. she must be busy, usually she asks if anyone has questions before leaving.

to my surprise, it isn't a new student that comes to sit next to me, but zoe, and her familiar crucifix, of course. the black cat mews in greeting to me, and i slip him a piece of bacon. "did you hear the news!?" she asks, excitedly slamming down her thermos of coffee. "no, spill." i order, leaning in. "you know lyla, the werewolf? well she totally fought wren. that's why the headmaster gave that speech. well lyla totally got expelled, that never happens! so i asked around and apparently, she like seriously hurt wren. like, in the hospital hurt" she whisper yells.

i roll my eyes, scoffing. "not "in the hospital hurt" more like "went to the nurses office and then to second period" hurt. you forget we have math together" she pouts, tucking her black hair behind her ear, purple eyes narrowed. "you know i was just sayin" she says. "i know, and it was interesting! but sadly not true" i say, she nods, sad.

the next morning, the cafeteria is crowded with students trying to get breakfast, as usual. thankfully, a lot of them are going for the free food and not the bistro, so i'm able to get my coffee and muffin in peace. well, relative peace. the new kids have no idea what they want and take forever reading the menu, not to mention they're loud.

sighing i make my way to first class; English. my teacher is cool, thankfully, and understands my need to be caffeinated. when i sit down there's still ten minutes left before class starts, but i pull up my computer and begin to work anyways. the assignment is easy: a small, 500 word essay on anything you like. just to test your writing skills.

i have the essay done in a few minutes, hitting submit and leaning back in my chair, stretching. then i plug in my headphones and switch tabs over to netflix, starting up the first Jurassic park movie. i have a good feeling about this class. but, with all the new students, i might have to sit next to someone and i wont be able to put my stuff on their desk. hopefully not.... oh god i hope i didn't just jinx myself.
